Jammal Brown to Redskins

Post#1 » by WAYSA » Sun Jun 20, 2010 12:08 am

Seems like a very good trade for Washington. They now have book end tackles with #4 overall Trent Williams. Now, they just have to figure out the interior problems. Brown is still very young and they are going to lock him up long term.

Saints get a 3rd/4th round pick depending on how the McNabb trade works out (I think.. compensation is weird in this trade, depending on a bunch of things) which is okay, if Brown didn't miss the entire season they probably could have got a much better pick. Bushrod seems to be very good so they will obviously be okay.

Shanny seems to be building up his offense rather well. Trading for McNabb, drafting Trent Williams, trading for Brown, and signing a bunch of talented backs who are obviously going to be good in his system.

Redskins had a good defense last year. They could really surprise if that OL holds up and they get rid of the Haynesworth cancer.

The inside of our line is fine. Dockery and Williams played well last year. The tackles were the problem.

Good deal for the Redskins, they really needed some help at tackle.

He's gotta be back 100% or else it's a swing and a miss, but I really like the move. It keeps Williams on the right where he belongs (I'm still skeptical of that working too) and adds a Pro Bowl LT for a mid-round pick. They won't have a problem paying him, which New Orleans clearly wasn't going to do.

I'm liking the Skins a lot, def. one of the most improved teams based on offseason moves...if they work out. Shanahan alone is worth 2 more wins.

Nice, we actually have an offensive line now. I'm still a little cautious about wasting a top 5 pick on a right tackle, but if Williams works out, OK.

It's a good trade for the Skins. Their offensive line looks much better now. Portis, Parker, and Johnson should be able to run the ball effectively behind that offensive line but their passing game needs help. They don't have good WR corp. McNabb isn't always accurate and holds on to the ball too long sometimes.
