Draft Thread (#27 and #31)

Post#1 » by Rockice_8 » Mon Jun 21, 2010 7:15 pm

I figured we needed a Draft Thread for #27 and #31. I think the other one could be used for the #3 pick which is (Favors). Anyway lets keep this to just #27 and #31. I know we talked about it in the other draft thread but not much. This is where we are going to say we had a good draft or a great draft.

I think we have a bit of a toss up here because we have 2 picks and 3 needs still.

1. Shooter
2. Backup PG
3. Backup C/PF

There is rumor that we are looking into another 2nd rounder so we'll see.

Thoughts?

I'm straight with DoJo. but that's probably the only PG i'd be willing to draft in those numbers... I really rather keep Keyon Dooling.

27 & 31

Lance Stephenson
Jordan Crawford
Dominique Jones
Tiny Gallon

and i'm really intrigued with greivis vasquez

I just don't understand how people look at guys like Lance Stephenson and Tiny Gallon and say, "Man, we should really draft this goon, he could reach his potential and be spectacularly mediocre!". :nonono:

Jones is an interesting player (see the OP for our needs) and I think he could fill our backup PG/scoring role. I don't think he is a great shooter but he's not T-Will bad. The other guys I want there would be Crawford, just a lights out good shooter and scorer or White who could be a combo guard/scorer/shooter off the bench. At #31 I think we go with the best bigman available.

#27 we go best combo guard
1. Jones
2. Crawford
3. White
4. Bledsoe

#31 take the best big
1. Sanders (would love for him to drop I would take him at #27 if he was there)
2. Alabi
3. Jerome Jordan
4. Seraphin

Ideally I would like Sanders at #27 and Dominique Jones at #31

Do we look to fill our needs? Or BPA?

I'm sorry but you guy's are throwing names left right and centre. Can we get a little background on these players for the uninitiated? LIKE ME lol. So please all you wanna be GM'S (you know your out there) go back and repost your picks. with profiles, positions, strength's and weakneses'. Also how you think this particular player can help us out.

Pretty Please?

My thoughts are stone cold shooter and back up point guard. But if someone does a CDR then i'm all over them like a fat kid on donut.

What are your thoughts on resigning Boone instead of drafting a back up F/C? I mean we draft a big at three. I believe Thorn will offer D.LEE a contract once (if?) Lebron knock us back. Doesn't mean I agree with it just a gut feeling giving Favours? time you develop

GREVEIS VASQUEZ AND LUKE HARANGOODY

Im actually serious, theres nothing you can get besides a future Trenton Hassell or a future Anothy Roberson...why not just go big and try and either get two busts or two steals. I watched Vasquez at Maryland he has talent he just needs structure and Harangoody could be somewhat of a David Lee. I say hit or miss no use filling up the roster with scrubs. And Harangoody was second in the whole NCAA in scoring and your telling me thats someone you dont want to take a chance on.

We have 7 players on the roster. Our need is EVERYWHERE. BPA = Go for need.

If we somehow able to land Damion James, id be a very happy fan no matter what happens with the first pick. This guy is a very hardworking player and always atracts the ball for some reason ala Paul Millsap.

Thorns incompetence shines through. Dallas gets the 25th pick for $3mil, we trade our 2 picks for the 24...to move up 3 spots. Look at what competent GMs did in this draft (Pritchard/Presti)

What a slap in the face for KP huh?
Finally fired about an hour before the draft and asked to still complete the draft for the Blazers.

That's disgraceful. I personally think Pritchard is a very overrated GM, but not even Isiah deserves that kind of treatment out the door.

I know he spends, but it's hard to consider Allen a good owner anymore with nonsense like that.

Thing is, he spends on draft picks. He never wants/goes over the Lux line.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
