Rambis is excited about Thursday's NBA draft, but more importantly, he reported that Nikola Pekovic, the 6-11 center from Montenegro who was drafted by the Wolves in the second round (31st overall) in 2008, is expected to join the team this season.
"He's won a Greek championship, he's won a European championship, and now his goal is to win an NBA championship and get a gold medal," Rambis said. "His mindset is to come over to the NBA now, so I do believe it will get done, yes."
Rambis also is convinced Darko Milicic, the center acquired from the Knicks who averaged 8.3 points and 5.5 rebounds in 24 games for the Wolves, will be back with the club this season.
"I'm really high on Darko and he's high on us," Rambis said. "His agent in some respects is a little bit dumbfounded and shocked that Darko is so positive about this situation. His deal is around the corner from being done, so it's something that we feel very positive about."
