Xavier Henry or Paul George
I know most of us are looking to draft one of these two. It might be fun to decide who is more favored on this board. I have not studied them in comparison of each other. I just know I like both.
But IF you had to decipher between the two of them who would you choose?
Also you may perfer a different guard in this range like Babbitt, Hayward or Bradley. Let's hear your opinion.
Does Wesley Johnson vs Cousins influence your opinion on this?

Re: Xavier Henry or Paul George
I really don't know it yet.
It really depends on some factors.
1) Do we draft WJ?
2) Who do we think fits better with our remaining wings (e.g. Brewer, Ellington and maybe WJ)
3) Who of these guys is available?
I'd say I would probably be in favour of George right now but if we draft Wesley Johnson I would have a hard time deciding between both of these guys. Henry seems to be more of a prototype SG. He just fits better if we have Brewer and Johnson already on the team.
I went with George now because I see him becoming the (slightly) better player.

Henry ... but yes, this is not a clear cut subject IMO. If had seen George against more competition, I might go his way.
FYI ... Wes Johnson did struggle some later in the season against a tougher schedule, but to his credit, he did respond and play well overall in the tournament.

I like George. I just think he has more upside. With that high release on his mid-range jumper he should be able to get that shot off any time he wants against any 2 guard in the league.

Re: Xavier Henry or Paul George
Very tough choice, I see George as a Rudy Gay-Grangerover type player, he's very smooth and athletic. I don't have a pin on Xavier Henry despite watching nearly all of his games(KU fan), He's built like a truck, great shooter, great defender as well. I'd say if we take Wes, then Henry(seems like he could be a 2 easier then George). If we don't grab Johnson take BPA. I'd say Henry has a higher floor, even though he's younger.

George wishes he had Gay's ball handling skills.
I worry that the kid went from underrated to over hyped. You could easily make the argument that James Anderson will be just as good of a pro as henry or George.

Minutes were there so I asusmed he just had a slump. Don't know otherwise.
Henry just appears like a natural fit fior the NBA ... strong, plays defense, and has a clear-cut position at SG.

I like George, seems like a hard worker, wants to get better, judging by his interviews. He wants to eventually mold in to a McGrady he said. Going to take some work.

Re: Xavier Henry or Paul George
Kind of interesting;
http://www.howlintwolf.com/2010/06/thou ... s-workout/
Today I visited the Target Center to watch a group of wing players work out for the Timberwolves staff. Among the bunch was Paul George, Damion James, Ryan Wittman and Mikhail Torrance. Here’s what I walked away with:
Paul George: I will admit that I have never actually seen George play before today. Obviously the biggest name of the group, all eyes were on this 6-foot-9 mammoth with tentacles for arms. He’s as lanky as a human being can get but by no means was he skinny and weak; his lean yet slender physique was banging underneath with the Piston bad boy himself Bill Laimbeer.
After watching George play today it’s safe to say that his physical tools are in charge of his ever-growing upside – he plays like somebody who’s relied on his body to play basketball for him up until now. But other than that and a sweet shooting stroke, George didn’t impress me all that much. He seems too raw and inexperienced after playing his collegiate ball at Fresno St., not your typical NCAA powerhouse. He greatly struggled with his ball-handling skills – but I would too if my arms could grab my knees without bending over. He showed physicality inside but only in brief glimpses. After he dunked on Laimbeer once, he struggled trying get around the big fella. George also had difficulty in one-on-one drills going against the high-motored Longhorn Damion James. He even missed quite a few free throws, a definite no-no in a workout like this in a calm setting.
But despite his flaws, George was still the most talented of the bunch and his smooth jumper resulted in some really nice shots from both inside and out. He was easy to spot in the group due to his freakishly lengthy body. His athleticism and jumper definitely attribute to his potential lottery status, but until he improves on his ball-handling and consistency, I don’t see him being much of a contributor to an NBA team.

Re: Xavier Henry or Paul George
The question isn't if we can get them, because we easily could get either with our resources.
Rev, regarding James Anderson. I used to think he was well worth a #16 pick, but after hearing his interviews I don't want him at all. He sounds so dumb and talks to slow, with little interesting thoughts. Bluck, I couldn't stand anymore interviews on a consistent basis.

Well I didn't mean the ball-handling so much, just the length, height, scrawny, great athletes, very smooth when they play. I don't think he'll ever be a great ball handler because of his long arms, but I wouldn't rule it out either. I think I'd rather have Henry just because he's better now, and has a better chance to reach his peak.

Re: Xavier Henry or Paul George
Henry for me. Seems like a Mitch Richmond-Allan Houston type SG. I don't dislike George, but I think Henry has the higher floor and possibly ceiling as well. He can shoot and defend and that's going to carry over very easily into the NBA. George has the talent, but I just see Henry as a natural 2 and George as someone who's going to need some time to develop.

Gay's handle doesn't seem all that much more deft than George's to me. Ballhandling and motivation were the two most commonly mentioned knocks on Gay coming out of UCONN. It's gotten better, but it still keeps him from taking full advantage of his first step at times.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

I will jump up and down yelling happy things if the wolves end up with either of these guys. I love smooth players, such T-mac in the day.
I would go Xavier though. More of a sure thing. Only knocks I am aware on him is lateral quickness, which the combine tests would dispute, and he seems to have sub par finishing ability with his off(right) hand, which will come with time. Sign him up.

I noticed the same thing watching a few of his games and his highlights on youtube. If he's on the right side, he still either tries to use his left or he uses both hands. I think I give George the edge, but I like either.
