Timberwolves fan here. Some of you are pointing to Jonnys weaknesses without looking at the big picture. Yes he was a rookie PG, but he he also had very little talent and was asked to do things that aren't his strengths. He's a drive and dish, pick and roll type of PG...that's not what he was asked to do last year. His defense was overrated coming out though, and running the zone in school didn't help. But he's smart and he's incredibly athletic, he'll get better at pretty much everything that he's good and bad at. But again, he's a slashing type of PG...not best suited for what we did last year. Having said that, we've only heard info that is was Flynn for the 10th that supposed Minnesota turned down. So I don't know how this "rumor" of Flynn+16+23 for a package of 10 and say, Rush? It's either something way bigger, a three way, or total garbage...I believe it's the latter. Good luck Thursday!

if the offer was

Rush, #10

for

Flynn, 16 and 23

Any one of us would do that in a heartbeat. So there has to be something else in the trade, maybe they wanted roy instead of rush or something. But if it is the above trade, there isn't a reason in the world we shouldn't pull the trigger.

Larry, If you're to remain the President you must jump all over Flynn, 16, 23 for the 10 + filler.

How much cap-space would be created? 2 mill.

As a Wolves fan its strange to hear from once source that the Wolves turned down Flynn for the 10 pick and then from another source at the Pacer turned down Flynn, 16 and 23 for a package that included the 10th pick. I just don't understand what else could have been included in that package, maybe Rush and a future 1st? I doubt the Wolves think Rush is worth 16, 23 plus more because they already were rumored to turn down the earlier deal.

We would probably have to give up ford or murphy for flynn and other picks or people

The don't really have any "bad" contracts unless you count Sessions which is not really a bad deal.

I've been looking at a deal like Ford, S. Jones, Rush and #10 for either Flynn or Sessions, Hollins and the #16 and #23. I don't really want to trade Rush, I'd rather give them Dahanty Jones but I would do that deal if that's what it takes.

I can't imagine Minny asked for Hibbert in exchange, because of their situation with having AJefferson and KLove already. I would imagine they had targeted Tyler Hansbrough and Bird poo-pooed that down.

But, if it was Rush/10 for Flynn/16/23 and Bird said no, I'm going to go camp on the sidewalk in front of his house and think of witty things to say when I see him. What those things are, I don't know, but I'll come up with some.

Why don't we get them both!

Ford, Solo Jones, Rush, #10, and #41 for Gomes, Flynn #16 and #23

Then send Murphy, Gomes & #23 to the Honents for Collison, Songiala, and Okafor.

Hornents cut Gomes save money dump Songiala's contract saves them about $5 million and they get a 2nd pick.

Minny moves up to #10 gets a short contract in Ford and a solid young player in Rush.

Pacer get Okafor, Flynn, Sessions #16 (Udoh or Patterson maybe Henry?) maybe save $2 millon or so this year.

I'd imagine the opposite. They already have two pure PF's in Jefferson and Love, but neither one's a center. There's no way they'd have any interest in anyone but Hibbert.

If the T-Wolves offered Flynn, the #16, and #23 for a package, I'd imagine it's the #10, Hibbert, and likely Rush as well. Hell, they might've offered it up for Danny and the #10 thinking they can absorb Danny's deal and interest the Pacers.

I definitely can't wait to see who our package consists of.

IMO Hibbert should be the most heavily protected Pacer. His value is not near as high as it could be very soon. Assuming Flynn for the #10 is a push, there is no way in hell I'd trade Hibbert for the 16 and 23. I might have a hard time moving Hibbert for D. Cousins, so you know I believe Roy is as near to untouchable as it gets.

My guess is its some type of salary relief that Minny is seeking.

I don't see Ford having any real value to the Wolves, if anything he'd make the deal better for Indy who'd get out from under his salary while eating into the Wolves capspace for this summer.

Any expiring is of value at the deadline. Granted in this scenario it costs them money, but it's certainly not an unmoveable piece for them.

I agree. Hibbert is not going anywhere in a deal. I bet that's what Minn is asking for and I'm happy we wouldn't do that.

Yes an expiring has value at t he deadline but not as much value as capspace this offseason, even if the Wolves can't sign a big name FA they can still use their cap room be a 3rd team that has the ability to absorb some salary in a S&T and can pick up some assets in the process, they picked up a 1st round pick a couple years ago for taking on Rodney Carney's contract expiring deal when the 76ers were trying to free up capspace to sign Brand.

Because Hibbert will be cheaper than Darko and Pekovic, but will be by far the best one now, and likely for the next decade as well.
