Holy moly. Supposedly Jason Spezza's been traded to Columbus for 4th overall, Brassard and Huselius.

Some sites are saying it's done, others are saying it's not done yet. Either way, if Ottawa pulls this off then kudos to Murray, cause that's a huge steal for Ottawa.

That would be a major deal. And quite the move for Ottawa. Brassard is young and damn talented, the 4th pick will get them a nice d-man and than unloading Spezza's contract...thats three real positive moves in one.

Columbus fans would be excited for a real Center to pass to Nash, but are you getting the 90 point, 70 assist Spezza or the 70 point, 40 assist Spezza? Seems like an awful lot for the guy

I think TSN has nixed that deal. But Ottawa would win it if that does come to fruition.

Yeah it looks like it died now that it leaked.

Niedermayer is expecting to retire today, too. I really thought he'd try one more year in Vancouver or Jersey before hanging them up.

Horton and Campbell traded to Boston for Wideman, Bostons 1st rnd pick (15th), and 3rd rnd pick in '11.

Florida just got robbed.

Also apparently Montreal has re-signed UFA Mathieu Darche, and are working out the final deals on a longterm extension with Tomas Plekanec.

Re: Nick Kypreos via Twitter - UFA Mathieu Darche re-signs in Mtl and hearing final touches are finishing up soon for Tomas Plekanec on a new long term deal.

Tomas Plekanec signed to a multi-year deal estimated at about 5 mill/year (just announced) - http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=325383

Not overly happy with the 5 mill per... I'd have much rather seen 4, 4.5 mill per MAX.

Florida has a bunch of picks now they can package in other deals. Something tells me one of two of them will head my way for a guy like Versteeg (hopefully).

Boston has the potential to look really scary next year.

Savard, Horton, Lucic, Krejci, Bergeron, #2 overall pick.

With the departure of Wideman I'm sure they will put one of Bergeron or Krejci on the table in trades for a puckmoving defencemen.

No kidding. Horton on a good team might be nasty

Those first two lines are really legit. And pretty damn young. Add Tuka Rask in net as well to the young core

Florida has 5 picks in the top 50 so far. They will probably get more with Vokoun and possibly Weiss. Smart move for Florida. Horton wanted out. Has a terrible attitude. If Wideman can regain his form from 2 years ago, it will be a better trade for Florida. Horton to me, just seems like a cancer. Could just need a change of scenario. I think this is a good move for both teams.

Pens re-signed Cooke to 3 years, 1.8 cap hit. Good signing. Gonchar is going to test the free agent market. Good. Didn't want him re-signed. Would be too much.

I would love Patrick Sharp or Andrew Ladd on the Pens. I think Ladd is the most possible since he is a RFA and Chicago can't afford him unless they trade away a lot more.

Sharks aren't offering Nabokov a new contract, and the Savard for Kaberle rumors are starting to pick up.

I honestly feel like they're going to lock up Chris Mason. He'd be perfect in SJ.

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome. I'm glad chia isn't just saying ho-hum on the choke job to end the season. On the other hand, I hope he doesn't go too crazy, I was not feeling the savy rumor.

Kinda feel bad for wideman. 1st year he was alright but people saw the #'s boyes was putting up, so they were rough on him. And this past season was just a down year, but the crowd was ruthless. He lived right next door to the garden in his condo and was very committed to the bruins and Boston community. It will be sad to see him go. I hope he does well in fla.

But Horton! Holy crap I love this kid. Great trade chia. Now trade Tim Thomas and Ryder for a puck moving d-man.

You can have Gonchar.
