Yeah welcome to the boards, too bad your first thread will likely get locked. I think he could be a nice addition although it'd depend on what happens with the other forwards on the roster and who else is available.

Tweets from this morning's workouts:

Wow - Paul George just had a monster dunk over Laimbeer. George is extremely athletic #Twolves #NBA Draft

Damion James is extremely powerful when attacking the rim - solid jumper as well #Twolves #NBA Draft

1-on-1 action...James vs. George should be interesting #Twolves #NBA Draft

I really, really hope that George has a good enough workout to convince them that Wes Johnson at 4 is a bad idea.

If a collegiate season's worth of game tape hasn't done that, 1 workout shouldn't. Unless Kahn's the knee jerk reactionary type.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

I think Kahn has shown that he is a bit knee-jerk when presented with a good opportunity. I don't know if that applies to your post, but since you brought it up...

Does Wesley Johnson at #4 present a good opportunity?

There's way to much subterfuge and smokescreens this time of year.

Here's an article from the Net's Favors/Cousins workout: http://www.nj.com/nets/index.ssf/2010/0 ... t_can.html

with this quote:

That report from Minneapolis about Favors being out of shape? It was a feint, obviously. At least the Nets think so: Their internal dialogue in the last few days was about how Minnesota has already told the kid he’s their choice at No. 4, so the Wolves want to see him drop.

“I didn’t think so,” was all Polinsky would say when asked if the Georgia Tech kid was out of shape

It makes me wonder how much of Minnesota loving Wes Johnson is just them playing the game. If Favors really is their guy, I could see this as Kahn hearing the rumors about New Jersey liking Wes and then going out of his way to make it clear that if they want him, they'll have to trade with Minnesota.

Was it really a report that Favors was out of shape coming out of here? It seemed like it was one comment made by Rambis and repeated by Kahn, who said plenty of good things about Favors in that interview as well. I don't really see it as a surprise/recent development that the FO likes Favors and would take him if he's there at #4.

I'd love it if the Wes Johnson stuff is just smoke and the plan was either Favors or Cousins, whichever's available. I'm hoping that's the case.

The ESPN 1500 guy mentioned it too. It definitely struck me as odd, though, because Jonah Ballow never mentioned his conditioning, and outside of a one sentence blurb on Draft.net's profile, that's the first I ever heard about Favor's conditioning being poor (neither Express nor ESPN ever mentioned it).

Babbitt and Hayward scheduled to work out tuesday. Hayward just pulled out, according to Zgoda.
Great News, Aminu and Hayward are my 2 nightmare picks. Hayward also was invited to NY for the draft, hopefully some chump team other than us picks him in the lottery.

I really want Paul George on this team, the FO needs to do whatever it takes.

Apparently the Bucks are high on Hayward. He likely was promised that he won't slip past 15.

A little birdy says we walk away from this draft with Favors, Aminu, and George.
Don't tell anybody

I could live with that, depending on which of our players we have to trade to make it happen.

Favors being out of shape could be based on our plan to run, whereas NJN won't be running as much. So what is out of shape to us is different for them.

What is with Larry Sanders going to us at 16 on the DX mock, for a few days in a row now, and 23 on NBAdraft.net? I hope they don't know something we don't. 16 is way too high for him. I might be okay with him at 23 if we've filled our wing needs, since he has excellent length and defensive potential.

According to this:

Milwaukee promised Sanders at 15. I would be thrilled with that.

They are using logic of who would fit in with are current bigs while ignoring the fact that we plan on trading at least one of Love and Jefferson, if not both.

My Bucks fan friend will blow a vein if that happens. He bemoaned their inability to ignore the sub-athletic white guys. I responded: "wait are we talking about Indiana?"

I reccomend a cruise through draft expresses runups of drafts by position over the years for anyone in need of perspective. It just shows what a crap shoot it is. The studs and duds are evenly spaced throughout the top ten draft positions, with a fair amount out to fifteen. Helped me to take a deep breath.

Below is a link to one for small forwards.

Quick question: Has Hobson worked out for the team yet?
