Mike Miller
"I'm looking for a winner," said Miller. "The last couple of years have taken a toll on me, as far as not being in the playoffs and not playing this time of year. So I'm looking to change that. This time, if it doesn't work out, there's no one to blame but myself."
co_laper would be glad.. Hope we can get him.
Parker/Hill
Manu/#20/Hairston
Jefferson/Miller
Duncan/Blair
Dice/Splitter
This team would be a winner Mike..Look at what Finley and Barry have done.
Think about it, you're already rich!

Re: Mike Miller
He'd be a great option off the bench for us. He's a well rounded player that can do it all. If we could get him for cheap i'd be all over it.

If we manage to get both Miller and Splitter, that will be the perfect offseason for me.

I would welcome Mike Miller to the team but Splitter is an absolute must. If anything for the rebuild once TD is gone.

MMiller has been a player I've wanted on this team since he was with the Grizzlies. Very underrated player.

Re: Mike Miller
Honestly, if we get Splitter and someone like Matt Barnes, that's more than enough for me.
I wasn't saying that it has to be Miller. It's just that we really really need help with shooting and help in the perimeter. And I really want it to come in the form of someone who is proven. Last year outside of our big 3, the rest of the guys are very inconsistent. Especially Hill and RJ. Counting on rookies or specialists to come in and give us that is really hard.
BTW, here's hoping Miller joins us. As far as the rotation goes Frankie, you got it all wrong buddy.
If Miller is here, than that boy has got to start because we need shooting on the floor. Parker is also a lock to start. Parker and Manu usually don't start together because we need the off the bench scoring. So I think Parker and Miller starts at the guard spots. Jefferson occupies the SF position. Duncan at PF. And with Miller to stretch the floor, we can play Duncan with a non-shooting big again much like we did in the past so Splitter or Blair gets the nod. I'm thinking Blair gets the first crack because of his energy and we need that since Manu will bring his energy off the bench. That way we have energy on the floor for 48 minutes.
Splitter as a rookie will be inconsistent and perhaps foul proned but shows great promise much like Blair did this year. Him and McDyess rounds up the frontcourt position. Manu and Hill gives the perimeter a 5 man rotation since they all need atleast 20 minutes to be effective. I'm thinking Parker plays 34 minutes. Manu 30 minutes. George Hill gets 28 minutes. Jefferson gets 28 minutes. Mike Miller gets 24 minutes. And then we can use the 20th pick to get a project SF and we won't have to count on a rookie to produce from the get go unless some high lottery talent falls to us again like blair did.

Well, I was just putting the roster, not giving the exact rotation..
If we can't give much money for Miller, would you accept a S&T for Jefferson? Problably another player will come to pair salaries..

Re: Mike Miller
Honestly thou, I think the Spurs won't trade Jefferson to acquire someone who is also a SF as the main piece. Plus, when we acquired RJ, it was because the Spurs was looking for a 4th star to complement the big 3. That's why I think if the Spurs do trade RJ, they're gonna trade it for someone who they think is "star" caliber player.
As far as S&T, RJ isn't a FA so there can't be any sign and trades. He's locked in a 15 million expiring contract.

The one who is going to sign and be traded is going to be Mike Miller, not Jefferson.
And, let's face it, we won't get a star caliber player for Jefferson expiring contract, unless there is a huge oportunity with a star that want to leave his team and there's no way back..

Re: Mike Miller
My bad, I was mistaken in what you meant by sign and trade. I thought you were talking about sign and trading RJ, which wasn't possible.
I'm fine with sign and trading for Mike Miller, but that don't make sense for Washington at all. For instance, if we trade RJ for Miller and filler, then Washington has to really like RJ to pay him 15 mil than just let Miller go. And that's not likely. Even if it was someone like McDyess, then Washington has to get something they want in exchange for trading Miller to us. Otherwise, they'll let him leave via FA instead of paying someone they don't want.
As far as getting "Star caliber" for Jefferson, I personally think it's quite possible. Ofcourse, it's not likely that we get some 25 year old Superstar. Perhaps more of a near 30 or early 30s Star caliber player. And since I don't think we trade Jefferson's expiring contract to get another SF or a guard (Unless parker is traded), then I have to think if the Spurs trade Jefferson, it is to acquire a big man.
I mentioned this on another thread but I forgot which.
Depending on how their team performs in the regular season, guys like Zach Randolph, Josh Smith, Emeka Okafor, Elton Brand can possibly be traded for strictly cap relief. Financially, it might not be a good deal for us, but on the floor, they should give us more production than RJ did this year. Any deal involving Jefferson for "better" players will most likely have us losing in the financial side of the deal.
It will most likely be a near trade deadline sort of deal when RJ continues to disappoint and Splitter (If he really comes) is also a disappointment and we're put in a situation where we sorely need to get some frontcourt help.
Right now thou, I rather have us keep everybody, see who we draft, and see who we can sign in FA before making a Jefferson or a Parker trade.

Looks like I'm the only one who's not sold on Mike Miller. Seems soft to me, plus he's never been on a really good team... Maybe I'm wrong and if we get him I'd wish him all the best but I prefer Redick even though he's 4 inches shorter.

Re: Mike Miller
He can have all of RJ's minutes if we're not able to dump him. I'd prefer Redick to be honest, he's younger and has a bit more of a mean streak than Miller.

Re: Mike Miller
I like Redick, but wonder how he gets his minutes here. We'll be loaded with SGs and no SF. If Redick was 6'7'', I'll definitely prefer him over Mike.
Anyways, now that we just drafted our shooter, I don't mind having Miller, but it's no longer a must for me. I'll be satisfied if we get someone like Matt Barnes or even guys like Mo Evans or Trenton Hassell (FA right?). We can sure use some defensive help from the SF position now.

Re: Mike Miller
Blair is playing in Las Vegas. I'm curious to see if he added a shot or not. They said Blair was spending the summer doing individual workouts. I don't know what he'd be working out on if it's not his shooting. Blair with shooting is a way better version of Glen Davis/Malik Rose.

I think Blair makes a big leap this season. He'll get more minutes and I think he'll produce.

If Blair were 7 foot he wouldn't have fallen as low as 37th overall and would be on another team. We're lucky to have him as it is.
