The difference might be 4 picks, but the potential talent difference would be a lot. Cousins at #6 or Udoh, Henry, Ed Davis, Patterson at #10. Maggette's contract is bad, but i don't think it's that bad. they would have Cousins a year after Maggette expires.

The Warriors fans make it sound like the team is content with taking who is left over between Cousins and Monroe.

Would you trade Iggy for Mo Peterson, Martell Webster, #11 (from NOH) and #22 (from Portland)

?

So would people do this?

http://www.realgm.com/src_tradechecker/4/ with the 14th pick coming here as well.

You get expirings for Brand, you get rid of Nicioni's contract. You give up Thad and the #2 pick, but you get Kevin Martin, a proven LEGIT NBA SG who would fit well next to Iggy.

Jrue/Lou
KMart/Meeks
Iggy/Kapono
Speights/Smith
Aldrich/Hawes

You would have enough money to go after 2 FA's in 2011 and you'd have your 1,2,3,5 positions locked up.

Re: T'Wolves trying to acquire #10 for possible trade with 76ers

Post#226 » by 76ciology » Tue Jun 22, 2010 4:36 pm

I think if you can acquire DeMarcus Cousins (projected at 4th) and Xavier Henry/Paul George (projected at the 10th) for Iggy, I would do the deal. But I really doubt the Wolves to do that because they'd be better off with Wesley Johnson.

Iggy for the 10th and the 4th really fills the holes of your team for now and the future. Cousins solidifies your frontcourt while Henry or George gives you the insurance SF if Thad doesn't workout at the SF position. And the future of Holiday/Turner/Thad/Cousins and maybe Hawes instantly put you right there with the Thunders and the Blazers, in terms of being one of the most promising teams in the league.

Now, that's a LEGIT team.

But I don't think Iguodala gets you #4, let alone #4+#10. Its not just about talent, its about contract.

I think Iguodala for 4 would be possible. unlikely, though. No way he nets an additional first. any first.

Haha :D I also doubt it. Although contract wise, I think we'd be more than welcome to absorb Sessions, Gomez and the necessarily filler they can get from the trade.

But like I said, if I'm the Wolves, I'd rather go for Wesley Johnson than Iguodala.

With Favors locked at the 4th overall pick with the Wolves, maybe we can trade Love with Thad. It makes sense for both teams. Because I think Love compliments Hawes while Thad gives wolves a good consolation price for Wesley Johnson.

76ers (future)
Jrue
Turner
Iggy
Love
Hawes

I heard from 2 reliable sources that the Nets are officially shopping the #3 pick behind closed doors ( and I actually know of a specific offer they made )

We know that the Cavs wanted Igoudala. for 2 reasons:

1. to lure Lebron
2. as a boobi prize if the miss out on Lebron

Could the Nets be interested in Igoudala for the same reasons?
He and Harris would also be a great tandem.

My trade idea is:

Andre Igoudala, and Maurice Speights
for # 3 and Filler

(My question to you is, would the Nets have enough money left over to make Lebron a sizable offer?)

The thought of :

Jrue
Turner
Thad
Favors
Hawes

is unreal

Love and Hawes down low would be horrible on defense.

I could see that trade going down b/w the Sixers and Nets.

The Nets are way under the cap, so the salaries don't have to match exactly. The Sixers could take back Jianlian and Kris Humphries (about $7 mill in salaries) and the net addition of salary to the Nets is only $7 mill.

Then the Nets could sign LeBron and Bosh and have a starting 5 of D.Harris, Iggy, LeBron, Bosh and Brook Lopez. Pretty sick starting five. They would also have Courtney Lee, Douglas-Roberts, Terrence Williams and Mo Speights on the bench.

Meanwhile, the Sixers would have a starting 5 of Jrue, Turner, Thad, Favors and Brand with a bench of Nocioni, Hawes, Lou Williams, Jianlian, Jason Smith, Willie Green, Kapono and Meeks.

That's 13 players right there. The Sixers could just waive Kris Humphries.

The Sixers could save another $7 mill in cap space with the trade and get Favors.

BTW, Injuries are certainly a concern, but with Dalembert gone, how many more people would be on board with a Bynum Dala trade

Actually, according to this link:

http://members.cox.net/lmcoon/salarycap.htm#Q11

The max annual amount that both Bosh and LeBron (both w/6 yrs in the NBA) can get on a contract is $13,520,500.

Assuming both sign for max, then they would count for a little over $27 mill towards New Jersey's cap.

The NBA salary cap projects to $56.1 mill next year according to this article:

http://www.nba.com/2010/news/04/16/boar ... index.html

According to HoopsHype.com, the Nets only have $22.2 mill of salaries allocated to 2010:

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/new_jersey.htm

That means that even if the Nets max out Bosh and LeBron, they would only eat up a little over $49 mill of their cap space, leaving around $7 mill to spend.

And if you notice HoopsHype's calculation of the Nets' $22.2 mill of salaries, it includes a team options of $3.8 mill to Dooling, which they could decline.

Therefore, they could make the trade of Iguodala and Speights for the No. 3 pick and Jianlian and Humphries, sign LeBron and Bosh, and still be under the cap, according to my calculations.

Both have 7 after this season ends. Thus the figure is different.
