If this trade ends up happening, who woulda thought in 2004 that we'd end up with both Howard AND Okafor.

If the trade happens i am just glad that it happened howard then okafor and not okafor then howard. Because i doubt that the magic would still be in orlando.

It definitely is nice to hear our name being mentioned in the rumors. There were way too many inactive years with T-Mac where the summers would go by and the only moves we would make would be something like Drew Gooden and Anderson V for Tony Battie.

Taking this discussion in a different direction now...

The potential pairing of Howard+Paul...assuming that Paul is 100% and stays that way, is there honestly a better duo that you could create?

You have TWO 1st Team NBA All-Defensive players anchoring the two most important positions in the NBA.

Not only are they 1st Team Defense, but also the best at their respective position.

I do not consider myself a Magic homer. I am a huge fan and I spend wayyyyyyyyyy too much time on these boards but really...is there a better pairing possible?

I think LeBron is a much better all around player than Dwight but I would still rather have CP3+D12 than The King+CP3.

LeBron and Wade...unstoppable scoring threats, but give me the two guys that will dominate on both ends.

IMHO Paul + Howard or Wade + Howard are the best pairings that could be in the NBA.

I think those are just the two best individual players getting put together...not the best pairing though. The two would not add to each others game, they would take away from it.

Everything Howard does, compliments Paul and everything Paul does, compliments Howard.

is solid. Best of all, Paul would flourish on a team that has shooters all around him. Every player there can knock down a mid-range or 3.

I think JJ would be an awesome backcourt partner for Paul. And the team still has the potenial to slide Lewis to the 3 and play Oak/Bass/Ryno at the 4 for more size.
