Re: DX: Houston and Detroit working hard to get #4
We already have enough assets, no need to trade for more with that horrendous deal.
We already have 6 bullets in the chamber and one in the barrel. We don't need four more bullets to hold in the other hand.
(^ not sure if that analogy is correct but you get the idea)

Exactly, what we need is another gun.

Like an AK-47?

If you want to call Jordan Hill and Bud crap thats fine.. Im sure Corey Brewer or Randy Foye were once priceless assets too.
We have bigs. Budinger was probably taken in the 2nd round for a reason. He's good but not much more than a bench player. Brew and Foye were fringe starters, taken in the 5-10 range. I get bringing in Hill, but Budinger...seriously?
Simply put, you don't trade the 4th pick in any draft for a bunch of bench players and two picks in the teens.

I'll be legitimately curious to what other teams offers are. Whats the speculation?
This is not "my" offer. This is what is being reported, perhaps based on speculation, in Houston radio.
I see yall's point about needing another gun but.. I don't think that gun is in the form of anything attainable with the solely the 4th pick of this years draft. IMO, better luck betting on the form of multiple young talented players hoping that one will develop into that needed stud.
Good luck on draft night. As always it will be fun and interesting.

And they've got a better chance of that with the 4th then with Budinger or Hill.

Then prepare to be disappointed when the trade falls through.

Which is why there aren't any plans to trade the 4th pick at all. The FO believes (with good reason) that a player that can develop into that 2nd "gun" will be available to be drafted with the 4th pick.

If they believe he is that guy then they should hold on on to the pick and draft Johnson. I do not think Johnson is a star but I am not David Kahn. Trade up for Turner.

Not interested in anything from either team to be honest...not for #4. Austin Daye is intriguing, but I'd rather have Wesley Johnson than Al-Farouq Aminu and Daye.

I'm pretty sure that Chad Fords' draft tier rankings were based on what the actual teams are telling him and his tiers went:
1. John Wall
2. Cousin, Favors, Turner, and Johnson (in no order)
3. Etc.
Ford had the drop off occurring after tier 3: Monroe, Davis, Aminu. Not after tier 2 IMO.

I haven't seen a weaker offer until later in his post for Rubio.
The one thing that the Wolves need is a shot at a franchise player, not a bunch of bench players.

If you think this doesn't feel like enough for the #16, historicially you'd be right. According to my personal valuation and a splash of an economist named barzalai, fair value for those two picks would be #18-19, historically.
I see no reason for MIN to have interest in the #25 and #28, when they already have #4 + #23.
Clumped picks mean you have difficulty avoiding a guy you want to avoid.
I don't really see the "get them to trade" possibility, though its more likely. Couldn't MIN use the #23 in a deal, instead of trading down to get #25 or #28 in a trade?
