Is Thad for #4 overall pick possible then?

Jrue/Lou Williams
Turner
Iggy/Nocioni
EB42/Speights
Cousins/Hawes

Sixers trade:
F-C Marresse Speights
F Jason Kapono

Nuggets trade:
C Chris Anderson
F Renaldo Balkman
G Aaron Affalo

This trade fits what we're trying to do in terms of adding toughness and attitude, The Birdman's a nice shotblocker, he's intense. Balkman is the same kind of hustle guy. With these two guys, I think your adding alot of bulk to the bench. Affalo is our Lindsey Hunter-esque kind of guy.

For Denver, you get a guy in Speights who has shown potential, and you get a 6 million dollar expiring. You also get out of long deals.

Chris Andersen is very vital to their team's interior defense. I don't think they are going to give up on him for Speights.

76ers Receives:
Marc Gasol

Grizzlies Receives:

Jason Thompson
Jrue Holiday

Kings Receives:
Mike Conley

Why for the 76ers:
Got the big man who can solve their big man problem. Turner-Iggy-Thad balances out the dilemma of having too much ball handlers. It also gives them superior size over opposing 1-2-3 positions.

76ers line-up:
Evan Turner (yup, PG position)
Andre Iguodala (doesn't need to create with Turner; Playing the J-Rich role.)
Thad Young (Hopefully improves his handles and perimeter defense.)
EB42
Marc Gasol

Why for the Grizzlies:
Upgraded their PG position with Jrue Holiday who seems like a better fit for OJ Mayo. And they also receive Jason Thompson, and 10/10/1.+ guy who can fit well with Hasheem Thabeet. Jrue-OJ-Gay solidifies their big three with three guys who can create their own shots. And with thompson and Thabeet who can do the dirty works.

Grizzlies line-up:
Jrue Holiday
OJ Mayo
Rudy Gay
Jason Thompson/Zach Randolph
Hasheem Thabeet

Why for the Kings:
Got a young promising PG who can play with Tyreke. It also frees up their log jam at the C position.

Kings line-up:
Mike Conley
Tyreke Evans
Omri Casspi
Carl Landry
DeMarcus Cousins/Sammy Dalembert

I'd rather keep Jrue. I like gasol and everything, but I would have rather we cleared a little cap space for next year and impressed him with our play this year so he signed with us as a FA.

NO. This is an awful trade. Jrue Holiday's our PG of the future, that's #1, #2 Marc Gasol is a DECENT big man. A decent one. Not a great one. He's a 14-8 type, not bad, but not a guy with Jrue's upside offensively. Between Jrue's future pts and assists, I'd venture he's virtually a 30 PPG weapon. That is, combine his pts and assists, and he's accountable for 30.

No, a player of Jrue's potential>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Gasol.

We got Gasol, his name is Spencer Hawes.

Really? REALLY?

Marc Gasol:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/p ... yerId=3206

Spencer Hawes:
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/p ... yerId=3211

14/9/1.5
10/6/1.2

The difference isn't "10 times better" Gasol's a better rebounder/shotblocker. But they pretty much are that same semi-scorer, solid big man.

3-way Trade:

To Raps: #2 pick (draft E. Turner)

To Philly: # 4 and #13 picks (draft D. Cousins or D. Favors, and then wing at #13)

To T-Wolves: D. DeRozan

Thoughts?

You think Derozan is worth the 4th pick in the draft? That's awful.

Dallas wants to add some inside scoring to help out dirk and they still have haywood to play center. Sixers give them Kaponos expiring to take marions contract whose is 2 years longer than Brands(year longer base plus brand has an option on his last season)

Dallas

Kidd
Butler
Dirk
Brand
Haywood

Philly takes on a longer contract but gets a larger expiring (dampiers double kaponos) and get deeper at center. This leaves them with a LOT of wings but collins wanted defensive minded players and the trio of Iggy/Nocioni/Marion would give other teams fits.

No chance Dallas does that. And Dirk can't play SF. Bad trade overall.

I'd jump all over that. Can't see it happening though as Monta and Iguodala have nearly the same value. If by some miracle Cousins fell to 6 I'd include any of Speights, Young, or a future first as well to get it done.

With some buzz around Chris Paul potentially being moved... What about a deal centered around the #2 pick and Jrue Holiday (to a 3rd team)?

Then try to entice Ray Allen with an MLE deal.

Chris Paul
Ray Allen
Andre Iguodala
Elton Brand
Spencer Hawes

Whats the point of doing that? We aren't going to even be a championship contender with that roster. Ray Allen would never come here anyway.

Did you ask what the point of getting a 25 year old, top-5 player in the game was? We'd still have some assets to make additional moves with Lou, Thad and Speights.

Paul-Allen-Iguodala is easily the best 1-2-3 combination in the league.

By trading for Paul that means we are trying to win a championship within the next 3 years. That's just not going to happen. We need to build for the future and look at winning a championship 4 or 5 years down the line. You don't NEED a great point guard to win a championship. But you do need a great shooting guard and Turner will be that guy most likely. Also Jrue is much more valuable to us than he is to other teams.

That's a horrible idea! Its not rocket science people sometimes the best move is the simplest. WITH THE 2ND PICK IN THE 2010 NBA DRAFT THE PHILADELPHIA 76ERS SELECT EVAN TURNER FROM OHIO ST. UNIVERSITY. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I love the idea of Holiday/Turner being our backcourt for the next 10 years... but Chris Paul, a proven superstar who is young and unselfish (and would fit a lot better next our current best player) would be hard to pass up.

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
