I don't see why we should want him back, when he hasn't really shown anything even when given opportunities. One of the biggest faults on our team as well is three point shooting, which Crittenton would not provide at all. The only reason I think some of you want him back seems to be because he was drafted by us. If we were to sign him to the veteran's minimum, stashed him on the bench, and tried to develop him, I wouldn't be upset - but he's not really on my radar at all.

I'll agree with your assessment but we dont really know what happened in Mem/Wash, I know when he was in Mem he was behind 2 other PG Conly/Lowry and in Was he was constantly hurt.

Critt for the vet min ($885k); give him a chance to revive his career and he already has a whole camp and 1/2 season in the Tri. Mike Miller is going to want most of the MLE, so if Kobe - Ron backup is the best use of it, I say give Critt a shot at the available 14-16 mpg at PG.

PG: Fish 22, Kobe 10, Critt 12, rookie 4

SG: Kobe 24, Miller 20, Sasha 4
SF: Ron 32, Miller 10, Luke 6

PF: Pau 16, Khlodom 30, rookie 2
C: Bynum 30, Pau 16, DJ 2

Who did Critt shoot again? I can't seem to remember....how badly was the victim hurt? Will he ever walk again? Ooooooooh, right, he didn't shoot anyone.

Pick him up. He'll be better than Farmar off the bat, and he could allow Fish to get some rest this upcoming season.

He pulled a gun on someone in the workplace.
Seriously? If he wasn't an athlete, he'd be in jail right now doing at least 4-5 years. Compare that to third degree assault charges that Artest would have received.

Seriously? Have a coworker pull a gun on you while you're at the office and tell me that it's more acceptable than someone just punching you in a brawl.

Your analogy is a little off.

Maybe more like... have someone pull out guns on you at your work place, then retaliate by pulling gout your own gun, throwing a clip in it and cocking it.

You are implying that the " other co-worker" was not armed and or brandishing guns.

------------------------------

Meh..whatever, I don't anything in Critt at this point, to being back.
Cheers. — Mags

didn't the former vice president shoot someone and succeed!? athletes get away with less than politicians

it's not athletes that get away with stuff, it's anyone with money. don't single out athletes please.

Very nice!

The only major change I'd make is to sign both Crittenton and Chris Duhon for the minimum.

Give Critttenton those 4 "rookie" minutes and give those 12 "Critt" minutes to Duhon ... and move Gasol to sixth man (still getting his 35 minutes though).

The beauty is that the Lakers will be able to see first hand whether or not Critt is ready to play in the rotation ... my guess is that with an acquisition of a shooter like Mike Miller per se, the Lakers will need a backup PG who is defensive first (Critt fits the bill) and secondly, but no less importantly, the Lakers need a backup PG that can direct the offense ...

... I just don't think Critt is ready for the latter.

Bring him on behind Fisher and Duhon and let him compete for "Jersey Nights (The Life and Times of a 12th Man)" with Vujacic and Walton.

Critt'll play for the minimum so we can stash him as a 14th man at the worst as he improves his floor game to give this team what it needs.

Critt is a luxury to have as your third PG (but not essential). If he has a great summer league Miami could scoop him up for the same minimum money but promising more PT.

Mike Miller and Chris Duhon should be fine.

4 mill to Fisher (one year)
3 mill to Mike Miller
Minimum to Duhon
Minimum to Crittenton

And resign Powell and Mbenga because they know their roles and know the offense. Period.

first of all, the dude is NOT going to kill anyone in the LAKER lockerroom.

secondly, if he can play and has knowledge of our offense, then give him a shot.

3rd, if its on the cheap, seriously consider it.

4th, before anything im sure the front office will check it all out.

I'm for a backup pg who has a shot at slowing down the Aaron Brooks, Westbrooks, etc of the league. In that regard I like Critt and Felton over Blake.

honestly...i always liked crittenton when he was here...and started watching him a lot more when he left.

Never really got the chance in Memphis. Playing behind Conley/Mayo/Lowry...but when he did get playing time...he did produce.

In Washington, He started off slow, but then near the end he started getting more PT, ended up starting also. This guy polished his game a lot more, and he knows how to run a team. People said he dont have a jumpshot..but he did hit shots when he was open...but he didnt take a lot tho....he would penetrate and get open looks for teammates. A lot of wizards fans like him..saying he was their best playmaker and point guard.

Him and Mcgee were fun to watch.

I think we all want to... It's just that our finances are such that I don't think it's likely...

At least not as a straight signing... Maybe a sign and trade of some kind could make something happen.

And even if we do sign an impact PG, with Farmar and possibly Brown leaving, we need a cheap replacement anyway.
