For the love of God, STOP including Shaq in postseason threads.

No player in the league has a worse chance of playing for us next year.

the only other team that may have a use for Luke is Minnie, trade him for garbage.

It's time for us to get some younger legs.

Who are these younger legs and why would they come to the Lakers for the vet min? Like it or not, the Lakers don't have free reign to spend everything this offseason.

Yep. He's getting up there in age though, so that's a concern. I like this move by the Lakers. He'd be a solid addition, although I'd still prefer Miller.

How's this for an almost unbelievable Laker trivia: The Lakers will miss the playoffs this year for the 3rd time since 1976.

What price are we talking about for Bell? I don't think he's worth anything more than the vet min.

no way to Shaq. Even if you think he has anything to offer consider this:

He will be cracking Andrew every practice, you know he's too competitive to just ease off the kid. Do we really want Andrew to go through a season of practices with the big hacker?

Thats the price most of us are assuming. He isn't worth much more on the open market and the Lakers give him the best chance of playing time and a ring.

He likes older vets because that's how you win championships. The Lakers are in full champsionship mode, not a rebuilding mode.

Raja didn't play last year because he broke his wrist and it was season ending and I think that he would be a very solid addition if the price is right. Also we have two second round picks and I think that it would be a cheap way to pick up two players that could hopefully round out the roster and maybe even give us some minutes. We could draft a big and a SG and be okay I think. Also it will be interesting to see what happens after Sunday when Phil makes his decision if he does when he said that he was going to. Also would the two draft picks play any less then say Ammo or Mbenga?

Minnesota has no use whatsoever for Luke, and don't even have bad contracts they could swap if he was useful.

So if you beat the shi* outta 24 you get upgraded? First Ron, now Raja? This is like Lady Gaga giving the finger to the Mets fans and getting upgraded to Seinfelds Luxury Suite at City Field.

Raja has continually crapped on 24 everytime he gets a chance, saying he's not the best, not this, not that.

He's 33 with a bad wrist, he's not worth much, what's a shot at the LOB worth to you Raja?

I've been on him for a while. I know some people hate him, but he's a tough competitor and would be a good addition. He's getting up there in age, but he doesn't have a ton of mileage, especially coming off a season of rest like he just had. He's got a great work ethic, always in shape so I'm not worried about that. With this type of team, hungry vets are always going to be the best fit. I would be he would be way more consistent then Farmar, and with him and Sasha out on the floor together at times they would harass the crap out of people and spread the floor bigtime.

Vet - Steady and probably wont' complain about role/minutes
Consistent shooter
Good defender
Good skill to play Tri Point

How can you dislike a player that is so loyal... You are either with us or against us... Raja is only 2 3/4 years older than Kobe and essentially had a year off... He is a solid veteran pice for the right price to add to the puzzle...

Bell is seemingly a great pick.

And he is.

But how do you justify to Buss signing Bell and paying Brown as well?

Sign'em cheap.

I'm tellin you the Lakers might be able to sign three NEW guys with their 5.5 million dollar MLE.

Bell for 1.5 million per over 2 years.
Miller for 2.5 million per over 2 years.
Livingston for 1.5 million per over 2 years.

Bring back Fish (2 mill per over 2 yrs), Brown (1.5 mill per over 2 yrs), and Powell and Mbenga (for the minimums).

Dump Vujacic and a 2012 1st Rd Pick (and maybe a signed and traded Farmar--2mill per, 2 yrs) to one of the teams with lots of remaining capscace after the "FA well" ones somewhat dry.

I can see a team like New York, if they don't get one of Bosh, James, or Wade, simply sit back and judiciously sign a few bargain deals then proceed to load up on expirings in preparation for Carmelo in 2011.

Look if Kobe is over it then there is no reason why we should be getting all defensive for Kobe if Raja comes here. If Kobe says he wants him in LA he knows what he's getting himself into. After all its going to be Kobe playing alongside Raja not us.

No Carmelo to NY in 2011 but be that as it may, one of OKC, Clippers, New Jersey, Chicago, Miami, or New York will have significant space after the dust settles ... whatever team that is (with reamining capspace) might just absorb Vujacic's money for a 1st round pick.

Look at it as selling the 2012 first rounder to NY for 5.5 mill (the amount owed to Vujacic). I'd be willing to throw in 2 million to sweeten the deal.
