Lets be Honest

Post#1 » by pelleleather » Wed Jun 23, 2010 2:52 pm

What can you guys do in the future? Caped out, low draft picks, below average role players, No Coach, No GM, poor management, the list goes on. Imagine yourselfs at the peak of your career, would you want to stay with a company of uncertainty? Be fair to Lebron James Cleveland fans, hes a human like you, and me. Last I would like to know, do you think Lebron James really loves Cleveland. He goes out his way to mention Akron in all his public interviews, he flirts with other teams (Especially the Knicks) he wore a Yankees cap at a Cleveland playoff game, and a whole bunch of other stuff to show, he doesnt love you guys, so just let him go, If he leaves. Would you stay with someone who doesnt love you? Exactly my point. Also mods, do me a favor, dont lock this thread please. I'd really love to here what Cleveland thinks, let them defend themselves, and voice there opinion. Locking the thread is weak way out. Us New Yorkers, we dont believe in locking threads, we defend our teams, no matter how bad we are because thats what New Yorkers are about. Do you remember during the season when you said the Knicks were delusional believing Lebron would even consider the Knicks? Well do you think we are still delusional? Threat feels real now huh? Also what do you plan to do, If he leaves? The Cavs were supposedly a defensive team, so let Cleveland defend there franchise. Call me a troll or whatever, but I just have to know. Have a wonderful day!

How amusing.

Off the court Cleveland has a great owner, world class facilities, the home town advantage, a GM named as part of a predefined succession plan (not sure why you don't believe we have one), and Mike Brown gone.

On the court they have a team that won 60 games twice in a row then stalled in the playoffs. Why is that? Is it a flaw in the talent or a flaw in the system run? The answer to that goes a long way in an honest evaluation of the Cavaliers. My opinion is that system was the far greater liability.

As for flexibility, they are cap constrained for next season. After that they'll have a lot of flexibility again (pending what they do this offseason). Even now they have about $10M in expirings to deal and cash to spend on contracts coming back. Those that say their hands are tied are just wishfull thinking.

Of course its possible that not a single thing I mentioned matters to LeBron and he'll just do something else. We just don't know, and probably never will specifically. Only a couple weeks to go either way, in the mean time, troll elsewhere.

Paragraphs are an important part of conveying what you want to say. I'm no english major, but there are enough errors in your rant on facts and grammar to make me wonder how old you are.
Oh, btw we have a GM, his name is Chris Grant. Well thought of around the NBA too. What is there for us to defend? Either Lebron walks or he doesnt. We cant "let him go" as you say since we have no say in his decision. Not a very well thought out statement from you if you ask me.
I really enjoy how you ask a question and then answer with "exactly my point". Many people stay together who dont love each other for many reasons, like financial reasons, for their kids, or to care for someone who is unable to care for themselves.
That is part of the reason why I question how old you are, you dont seem to be able to understand anything but your own point of view, and dont seem to grasp that others who dont agree with you may actually be right.
There are many valid reasons Lebron shouldnt consider the Knicks, the first being that even your pathetic attempt to defend your trolling by saying "Us (should be we) New Yorkers dont lock threads" is far better than any "defense" your team played at any point during last season.
If Lebron is considering the Knicks so be it. If it werent for Knick fans like you, I would hope he actually does go there if he leaves, that way I know he wont be much of a factor as far as winning any titles any time soon.
But have a nice day, I understand that watching the teams the Knicks have had on the floor the last 5 or 6 years must have had a negative impact on all of the fans in the "mecca" of basketball, so I actually do feel sorry for you guys, although you know the old saying, "better you than me".

this is terribly humourous. Im sure james really wants to go to the knicks, a team that always promises to be better next year and never is. The knicks are the best and the brightest of the bottom of the barrel

Here is the deal the Cavaliers lost to a team with three certain hall of famers and a possible fourth in Rondo. We are a good team! A new system will take some buyin and some adjusting! But the key is how things pan out. I agree that LeBron needs to make the decision based on his needs and there are a lot of teams with flexibility and intriquing matchups but Cleveland has been extremely successful and the title will come!

Excuse me, I asked questions. I didnt ask why Lebron wont come to the Knicks, or all that other stuff you guys mentioned. Also dont worry about my age. My employer on Wall Street doesnt seem to have problems with my grammar, so why should I worry what you think. I asked a very general Lebron question, but you decided to answer about the Knicks. I figured you couldnt answer the question. The Mods here are use to babying you guys, and locking every thread that doesnt match the Cleveland viewpoint LMAO now thats pathetic to me, If you ask me. You also mention the Cavs hands arent tied. Are you serious? You guys cant get your franchise player/GM/ or a coach to commit. I guess stuff like that is normal in Cleveland. (Chaos)

Again, we have a GM, and no I dont think Lebron loves Cleveland. The thread isnt locked, and Chicago fan called you a *Please don't repeat* not me. Not that I dont agree with him, but I didnt go there.
I am almost impressed that you say you work on wall street, but even if I believed you (which I dont btw) it wouldnt matter. I was pointing out that you seem to have trouble getting your point across in written form.
Maybe you should consult one of those wall street lawyers about being "verbally assaulted" as you called it. Now I am wondering if you actually have any testicles either. The more you talk here, the more you embarass yourself. It would be better for you if you just went back to the Knicks board where you obviously belong.

pelleleather, your question was answered....twice.

If this thread slips into the realm of pety name calling or personal insults it will likely becuase you (continue to) ignore the inacuracies we identified in your original premise, and the legitimate observations we've made about the situation.
Alternatively you can either go in peace, or debate the merits of those responses. As a Wall Street employee I'll assume you have the maturity to debate the issue intelligently rather than stooping to cheap baiting tactics and baseless accusations of your own.

Tidy, I have two teenagers of my own, and it is sometimes very difficult to reason with them. I am sure I was the same way when I was their age, and I try to be as patient as I can. You sound like you have kids as well, as patient as you are trying to be here.

I would like Lebron to stay in Cleveland...
what ever he does, I just hope he doesn't go to the Knicks!! That's David Stern's Favorite team!!
And I do not like Stern, especially after all the games he has had Fixed including the first ever lottery draft to bring Patric Ewing to NY.

--Hopfuly he doesn't use his Evil powers to lure Lebron some how..

my opinion is that lebron put us in the position that we are currently in. we went for it the last couple of years because we knew we only had three years until lebron's opt-out. it's kind of come back to bite us in the ass this offseason because we didn't get it done the last two postseasons...that's the risk you take when you go for it when the clock is ticking. we mortaged cap flexability to trade for mo, sign av and trade for jamison. it provided us with great regular seasons but also with playoff flameouts because the trades for mo, shaq and jamison sacrificed our defense.

while we were going for it, teams like the bulls, knicks, nets, heat and clippers weren't. they were backing up the u-haul truck to haul away as many contracts as possible. none of those teams were anywhere close to winning but they didn't care because it was all about this summer. these teams have set themselves up for a great free agent summer and kudos to them.

but at the end of the day, i'd do it all over again. sure it cost 2010 cap flexability but we wouldn't have the successes of the last two seasons. the playoff losses were brutal but winning a championship isn't easy...it's supposed to be difficult.

if lebron wants to run away from it for another city or perceived better team, fine. i want players who want to go through all the trials and tribulations of winning a championship for this city. if that's not lebron, then screw him.

Cavaliers board mods must collectively have the patience of a saint to leave this thread open. As a Bulls fan I obviously would love to add James to our team, but given a lot of the stuff I have read even I would find it funny if he resigns with the Cavs and you guys get the chance to stick it back to the people who have been talking smack, like the OP here.

We just know that our fellas on here can handle posters like this without getting themselves in trouble. He's not the first and he won't be the last.

I've personally enjoyed watching this guy be put in his place with facts and actual arguments rather than just locking the thread all together.

Don't get me wrong though this thread is on very thin ice.

B Mac and I did agree that we'd be tough on trolls coming in, especially with the free agency period coming up.. But I actually think this is a decent topic to discuss, minus the way the OP wrote out his initial post. Just leaving it open for now since there were some decent responses. Of course, we can close this anytime if we feel it is necessary to.
