How disappointed would you be if the Jazz pick Babbitt?

Not via acquiring another pick, but at #9...I wouldn't like that pick very much. I think this draft goes 12 deep and he's not one of the 12. He could be really good offensively, but he seems like a boom/bust player (Depending on whether or not his post game or face-up game translates to the NBA) who's never going to be any good defensively.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I'll throw things at the podium if they draft him.

Very disappointed, I don't like that in any of the news reports about teams trying to trade up there is no mention of the Jazz. I'd like to at least hear about them inquiring about doing something. As always this team is content to stand pat.

I would be upset. But in reference to ^ I would say the Jazz are most likely trying very hard to move up. But there's no point on reporting things that dont have substance...so nothing has materialized of yet. Hopefully we can get something done and move up....

I would be ok with it. He's very skilled. He's got good height and good length. He's got good leaping ability. Word is that he plays hard on both sides of the floor.

He could actually give the Jazz a player that can create their own shot.

I think there is a lot to like there. I just don't know how badly he'll be abused on defense. If he can be an average defender he would be a terrific pick. If he's a liability on defense we should probably look at Aldridge instead.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

I wouldn't be too upset. I'd prefer to move up and grab Monroe, but If the draft goes the way it is supposed to go, then I don't see many players available at 9 that would be much of an improvement over Babbitt. I actually like the pick, just hurts a little to have to take him so high.

Not very disappointed at all. He fills the second biggest need on our team. He has legit SF size, can play the stretch 4 and has the potential to be a 16-20 ppg scorer. He has great athleticism and the potential to be a decent to good defender.

Just because you need a big doesn't mean you take a second tier guy.

If their isnt a done deal trade to let kirilenko go for a big man, then I am pissed off. He better be the next MJ, because we dont need another guard/forward. WE NEED BIG take the chance on big Kevin Oconner.

Extremely disappointed. Another great example of a guy who looks terrific on a college basketball court, but whose game just won't translate well to the NBA. I'm thinking Adam Morrison v 2.0 with this guy.

If you are the other team, do you trade a quality big for AK? Maybe at the trade deadline, but no way anyone takes on $16 million during the best free agent class ever!

But unfortunately, he hurts the #1 biggest need on our team: defense.

I don't buy the last statement, and the PPG estimates seem vastly optimistic.

Exactly. That's why you don't take Babbitt. There will be a player available at #9 who will likely be a better big than Babbitt will be at the 3 spot.

I agree that if he can't be a good defender you have to let him slide. Personally I think that Paul George is our best bet if he gets past the Clippers (if we want a wing scorer) and then trade that future Memphis first for the 25th pick and grab a guy like Dominique Jones.

This is the deepest big man draft we've seen in a while. It seems stupid not to pick one up.

IF AK gets moved this year it will not be until the trade deadline when money saving type trades are made.

I will be very very very upset.

another white player! Another bench warmer.

Babbitt is have to be late 2nd round pick. I dont understand why he is so high in mock drafts.

I think Deron will ask trade if KOC draft him)

I like Babbitt, but if that's all we get after 3 years of anticipation, I will be extremely disappointed. This is a situation where the Jazz are in desperate need of a quality defensive big, there are 5 or 6 of them in this draft.....if we don't get one......*facepalm*

I second the Adam Morrison comparison, and I'll throw out Luke Jackson as another comparable.
