You must mean Joe Johnson right?

Favors raw potential and his ability to get up and down the floor, as well as Cuzzo's pick-n-roll potential are far better fit's with Rubio than a guy who can shoot really good.

I wasn't naming anyone in particular. Not sure if I'd like him that much on this team anyway, already almost 30, dribbles a bit too much. Favors is a great fit as well, Cousins maybe with his supposed outside game and his size. Johnson is a super athlete, can run the floor, catch lobs, and shoot from 3. He'd be awesome with Rubio, just like Nash and Marion.

Not so any longer. A new theory circulating pegs Johnson as one of the first dominos in the free-agent frenzy that will officially commence July 1.

Okay, stay with me on this one. If NJN take WJohnson, does that improve the Wolves chances of moving up with Philly for Turner at #2?

It has been suggested that Philly likes Turner but new head coach Doug Collins likes Favors, and the team may not be as high on Johnson. Last week, the Wolves #4 pick looked like a lock to be Johnson. But if NJN take Johnson at #3, that changes what Philly could potentially get at #4 if they trade. If Philly could get Favors at #4, are they more likely to trade the #2 pick to the Wolves??

Probably, but the odds still wouldn't be very good. Philly seems to be locked on to Turner. Personally, though, I don't think it should matter. If we really are going to be a running team built around Rubio, I'd rather have Favors over Turner anyway.

Edit:

Saw this on the Nets' board, don't have a link:

According to a source close to Rob Pelinka, Johnson’s agent, the Nets have said Johnson’s professionalism and ability to contribute immediately are major reasons why he has moved ahead of Georgia Tech's Derrick Favors on Jersey's board. New Nets coach Avery Johnson, according to sources, wants a player who is low maintenance and can have an impact. Johnson answers that on all fronts.

The Nets covet a power forward, too, and Pelinka also represents Utah's Carlos Boozer. Multiple sources close to Boozer said his free-agent list, outside of staying with Utah, is limited to New Jersey, Chicago and Miami. The sources said Boozer has considered New Jersey for a few weeks.

According to sources, the Nets will look at trying to obtain Boozer or Toronto’s Chris Bosh or as a fallback Minnesota’s Al Jefferson, who has been made available by the Timberwolves in a possible trade.

Bump, after reading C Walter's little birdy thread.
