England wins this IMO. They need to wake up eventually.

1-1 Germany on penalties.

Could see Germany winning comfortably too though, if England continues to suck like they did so far.

England 2-1, the three lions play up to the competition and get it done.

That would explain their poor performances so far. :D

You are right England hasn't played well, but to be fair every team they played in the group stage was perfectly content with a draw. Now that they are in the knockout rounds teams have to attack and that will open things up for them.

I missed most of the game today because I watched USA, but Defoe looked good. As a team, can't really tell if they were better. I agree that they can step it up, should be able to, but I don't think they'll be on full swing. If they win it'll be a huge confidence builder that might make a huge difference for how they carry on. I think Germany is the favorite though. England's eternal foe basicly.

Of course Germany wins! We will purely play for a 0-0 draw until the penalty series, and then beat England 3-0. :D

Football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans win.

I think what you were going for was "football is a simple game; 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the ref makes a stupid decision and germany win. :)

That said I'm really comfortable with this draw as a germany fan. I wish I had gotten to see the England game this morning, but alas. Anyways my biggest concerns as a german fan would be if england switched their formation to have 3 guys in the middle instead of forcing gerrard to work from the outside in. If they did so Barry would be free to trail Oezil around and minimize his impact like Serbia did while Gerrard and Lampard charging forward put pressure on Schweini and force Khedira to be more cautious abuot charging up the pitch. I do think that we'll see Mueller forcing an English mistake at the back and if we let England attack and draw their backline up we'll be able to find space for those through balls we can use to such deadly ends.

honestly, with our young team I'm not that confident against England. of course I keep thinking that we're Germany afterall and we'll find a way to win but I'm definitely concerned.

of course, once we'll end up shooting penalties this is a surefire win for them Krauts!

I'd bet a good amount of money on Germany. I don't trust England.
