Rumor: Z-Bo/#12 for Al Jefferson/#16

Post#1 » by I Am Awesome-O » Wed Jun 23, 2010 8:47 pm

Trade rumor making the rounds: Minnesota trades Al Jefferson and the #16th pick for Zach Randolph and #12th. Money saver for Minnesota.

I have reservations about this deal, but I think I'd do it.

You guys would be charged with Rap if this trade goes down. This would be a steal for the Grizz to get Al Jefferson for Z-Bo.Jefferson is the better player of the two, younger, less off the court issues and has a better contract(yes his contract is longer but is good for what should be one of the top PF in the game)You would have a core of Mayo,Gay,Jefferson and Gasol to build around and should be into the playoffs this season or next and for years to come.

Chad Ford said it's dead now since Minnesota thinks they can get better, and Memphis doesn't want to include their picks.

That's a shame - knew it was too good to be true. The one nugget I was holding out that this had substance is the close knit relationship between Grizz GM Chris Wallace and Al Jefferson :(

I don't know how I feel about this one - up until 09-10 season it would be a no-brainer . . . but Jefferson looked like half the player he was pre-injury and Zbo look like a contract year beast (in a non-contract year) in 09-10.

Jefe, Al still put up 17/9 after an injury in only 32mpg and apparently in a system he doesn't fit in. I know I would do it.

Again the rumours are occuring that T'Wolves might trade Al Jefferson to Grizz.
I don't know about this. Z-Bo is pretty unconsistent at times but he has fit in with the team perfectly though he can be a troublemaker as well. I really don't know what to say about Al but he is a hell of a player when he is healthy and in the right system.
Tough decision but as they say - if its not broken don't fix it.

I thought the rumour had to do with a sign and trade for Rudy Gay? But now that it looks as though he is staying with Memphis does it make sense to trade Zach for Jefferson straight across? Minnesota would get an equal player but a huge expiring deal while Jefferson would bring a longer contract to go along with Gay's deal.

It just seems to me that Memphis would rather have the large $17mil contract coming off the books, along with the $7.5mil they will be paying Jaric next season to make up for the bloated deal they are rumoured to be giving Gay. But who knows?

Absolutely not, we have no want/need for for Zach. We have Love to play power forward.
