If we do that trade, Minnesota would be getting a mid 20's pick next year... That team would be pretty damn good in the East. And there would be so much depth

PG- Holiday, Williams
SG- Turner, Meeks, Green
SF- Young, Gomes (and Gomes could even start if he outplayed Thad at SF)
PF- Brand, Speights, Nocioni
C- Favors (or Cousins), Hawes

Thats a pretty outrageous team right there.

You are going to trust some guy who posts with grammar like he'd 16 over SF who is proven legit and said Iguodala is going nowhere?

Andy Katz today says this

The Sixers don’t expect to make a deal on draft night

I wonder if that's in reference to dealing the #2 or just in general.

I agree with half of your statement. That's a pretty ourtrageous team, but it would be likely 2012 before a playoff contender gelled from that. For that reason, I actually think the pick we supposedly would trade would be a top 15 pick next year and potentially even a top 10 pick if left unprotected (I really could see that lineup struggling to a 30 to 35 win season before learning how to play "the right way" in 2011-12).

The growing pains would be extremely worth it though.

It's a shame that a lot of posters are going to be disappointed when just a month ago everyone would have been ecstatic with simply getting Turner and the #2 pick.

These rumors have been giving people false hope. Turner and Favors? Turner and Cousins? Some rumors without them even giving up Iguodala? Keeping Turner and dumping Brand? Getting Aldrich for Lou Williams?

Keep your expectations realistic. All I wanted from the draft is Turner and I'll be more than satisfied if we get him and only him. I think that is what will happen.

Hey... do you have a link to that CBS story?

I was at the dentist actually.

Nothing I have heard at all today(and any other day) suggests that we are going to trade Iguodala.

I dont believe this prosportsdaily thing you were talking about one bit.

My personal opinion is...if that deal was "on the table"..I would strongly consider it if it was up to me.

But all signs point to...nothing involving Iguodala tomorrow.

It's just a case of the man being busy. In the 4+ years that he's been posting his info, I can only remember him once coming out and saying that he to keep things on the down-low because he didn't want to get his source in trouble (I can't remember what the topic was at that time). I'm sure he'll respond tonight and either confirm that he's hearing this or if there is nothing to it on his end.

Hard to believe no one else is picking up on this right now though given that so many columnists have their ears to the ground.

I am slightly offended that you would schedule to have your teeth cleaned the day before the draft. Perhaps next year you can make that appt the day AFTER the draft. :-)

And the trying harder to deal Brand thing...not sure what that relates to.

We wont deal #2 to get rid of Brand...so what other option is there?

Maybe we could move Brand if we wanted to take back two smaller but equally as terrible contracts while throwing in one our young guys like Thad or Speights???

I think we are stuck with brand.

my dentist is so hard to schedule appts with..if you miss an appt the next one is like 6 weeks out. I had to go today unfortunately.

I heard on WIP on way home that we worked out that Rutgers center again...maybe he and Jordan are the targets in round 2(if we dont get Aldrich)

Detroit would seem to have plenty of bad contracts and they do want big men. I have always thought that if we dumped Brand, it would be to the Pistons who would dump some of their junk back on us. No indication that this is the case, but they have enough bad contracts to make something like this work.

Not that I believe the semi-rumor posted here earlier, but trying to move Brand harder would make sense if we had a deal to get the #4 pick.

A lot of nothing in all likelihood, but what would a message board be without a lot of nothings to postulate about.

With the Sixers moving Dalembert's expiring contract and bringing back Nocioni's deal in the process... the idea of cap space next summer is gone. Because of that, I don't think there should be a huge sense of urgency to move Brand. If you can move him, great but I don't think the Sixers should ditch assets with him just so that they can take a bad contract back (no one is going to give up expirings).

While it would be awesome if Brand returned to All-Star form under Collins (unlikely), I think we need to hope that he is more than a 13/6 guy so that there is at least a chance of moving him in the future. If he continues to show that he's on the decline than we're going to be seeing #42 for the next three seasons or until the Sixers buy him out.

I wanted Evan Turner all year long and still do. Now if we draft turner and finish cloe to 500 and pick 17th, how are we going to get better? The 2011 draft is not going to help us, unless we slip back into the lottery 1 more year, which is what we need.

The 76ers brass wants to make the playoffs this year, so why not go out and make other moves, while we add Turner. These moves may cost us for 1 year, but making the lottery just 1 more time, could completely turn this franchise up for many years going forward.

If the 76ers have any chance to trade Iggy for Cousins I would d o it, but I would not trade pick 2. :D

Why not? Because other teams wouldn't do these deals. All of this stuff about getting Turner and Cousins/Favors is beyond a pipe dream. It isn't realistic.
