Where will Nabokov go?

Post#1 » by RoyceDa59 » Wed Jun 23, 2010 1:31 pm

Unrestricted FA, a top-end goalie, a number of teams could use his services. Where do you think he will go?

Chicago - cap space?
Tampa Bay - hmmm
Philadelphia - Cap space
Dallas - maybe
Ottawa - hmm
Go Raps!!

Tampa Bay is a goalie away from being really, really good in my mind.

Tampa seems like a safe bet.

I would bet Philly is hot in the running though, unless they love Emery

Not sure why Philly would be so in love with Emery, he's shown nothing.

This will be between Tampa and Philly, though. Hawks don't have the space, plus they really like Niemi. Dallas has Lehtonen and Ottawa has Elliott. I wouldn't be surprised if Columbus makes an attempt though since Mason decided to s*** himself last year. And maybe the Islanders...I mean, they love goalies.

Seems like we have the first shot to get him after reading a few boards prior to the free agent period. I doubt we would want to go into next season with Emery or Leighton in goal. So hopefully the news/rumors are true.

And Philly just traded for Nabokov's rights. If they can sign him he'd be a great addition.

Philly always got problems with goaltending all the years. Leighton was nice for us in the playoffs but he is a journeyman. He's not the long term answer. I can see Nabokov ending up with Philly. It would be a great addition. The Flyers may have found the answer at goaltender.

Nabokov is going to sign in the KHL. He made 6 mil last season so I don't think he is going to take less than that.

Yeah I see him going to the KHL too. I see Halak going there too if St Louis doesn't hurry up and offer him the Nabokov money he wants.

Nabokov just signed a deal in the KHL with SKA St. Petersburg, no contracts details have been released yet though.

*He got 4 years and 24 million. Thats a ton of money can't blame him for taking that.
