1st round pick is guaranteed money, a second round pick isn't. Miami is tryin to save as much money as possible for free agency. they also wanted to get rid of Cook's contract.

Barring a trade of #10 for a PG, who do you guys feel will be your best player available at #10?

Greg Monroe, but Wouldn't be a good fit playing next to Hibbert tho.
Al-Farouq Aminu, Athletic but nowhere near as athletic as Josh Smith or as good on the defensive end.
Ed Davis, could develop into a similar player like Amar'e Stoudemire.
My favorite player would be Dominique Jones, He the same size as D-Wade and basis his game off of his. He can get to the rim and score at will creating opportunities to open up on the block for Hibbert.

Well I have all those guys off the board by #10 except Jones who is a huge reach. This Maynor rumor seems to have some legs, however.

Jones is a reach I know but I think he will turn out to be one of the best players from the draft in a couple a years. I can't see Aminu, Monroe and Davis all gone before 10 unless the spurs or somebody trade up inside the top 10. or a team PHX, SA, or somebody else who has a big need for a PF in the future.

I like maynor and if Bird could get both picks with him, Dominique Jones would be the best player available by far. I don't know how good Maynor would be as a full time starter.

One player the Pacers really should be looking at in free agency is Mikhail Torrance, who went undrafted. The guy is 6'5, can shoot well, has great court vision and plays both guard positions.

i liked torrance at 57. or jeremy lin. or even better @ 51 we could've gotten willie warren. any of those guys would immediately be the best point guard on our roster.

he only dropped to 33... barely out of the first round. nobody wanted to give him guaranteed money.
