IND/GS Trade Suggestion

Post#1 » by MUpacersSIC » Wed Jun 23, 2010 10:34 pm

Apparently Golden State is having a firesale and are open to trading anyone but Curry. Some of the GS fans weren't opposed to this offer:

Indiana Incoming:
Monta Ellis

GS Incoming:
TJ Ford
Brandon Rush
#10

I personally would do this trade. After this, if the rumor about Jefferson for Murphy has any legs (from another thread on here) I'd do that as well. Basically Pacers would lose Murphy, Ford, Rush, and the #10 all to pick up Ellis and Jefferson. I think that's a no brainer from our perspective.

PG Ellis
SG D. Jones
SF Granger
PF Jefferson
C Hibbert

Playoff team next season IMO.

Dahntay Jones as the starting sg? I think ellis would be better off as a combo guard anyways. He is a shoot first player, we need a true more traditional pg.

Monta would be sick next to Granger.

I love Al for Murphy too.

I don't think we would have to give up the 10 to get Monta if they are wanting to get out of his contract like they say they are. Ford and Rush would/should be enough. Heck, if they insist, give them our 2nd rounders.

I would do that, but I'm sure they won't. If we could keep the pick I'd draft Paul George. Lineup of: Ellis, George, Granger, Jefferson, Hibbert and we are totally a team to deal with.

Mike Dunleavy and Brandon Rush for Ellis. No Picks involved.

Let's be a little bit more realistic here.

According to Andy Katz the Warriors are leaning towards drafting Ekpe Udoh. Do you think we could trade up to the No. 6 since Udoh will still be there at 10? I think at No. 6 we could take Cousins or Monroe.

That'd be amazing if they dumped Ellis' contract on us(not a big fan of him to be honest, but if it meant we could get cousins all for it) and we exchanged picks and sent filler over.

Unless they are having an all out fire sale that's nuts! This deal is pretty weak as well I don't see the GSW sending us Monta Ellis for Ford, Rush and #10. Dumping Maggette for Gadz and Bell was one thing Ellis is another, unless the are in tear it down mode!

from hoopsworld.com...

The talk that has been very real for both Golden State and Indiana is that both clubs would use their Top 10 picks to off load unfavorable contracts. The Warriors are open to moving both Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins (as a package) and would toss in the #6 as sweetener to clear off those players. The Pacers have been trying to package T.J. Ford with the #10 overall pick with very little interest. Pacers sources said they would include Troy Murphy if it insured they moved T.J. Ford.

um... how bout just swap the whole bunch? ellis, biedrins, & 6 for ford, murphy, & 10... you could do it without the pick on one or both sides as well. clears a lot of salary for golden state. fills some holes for us.

I'd think Warriors fans would have some kind of episode if they bring Murphy back, I know he's a pretty good player but they were so happy to move him and MDJ they'd do all wack if either of them was brought back!

But back then he wasn't an expiring contract.
