There is a rumor out there that the Bulls may send Deng and the 17th pick to the Clippers for the 8th pick. It might have to wait until July 1st to be consummated but it makes sense in a perverse way. The Clippers should be smart enough to realize that no major free agent will sign to play for Donald Sterling if other options exist to get paid (and they do this year) and their only position of real need is SF. The deal frees up more cap room for Chicago making them players for two max free agents to add to Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah. The theory is the players they would go after are LeBron and Chris Bosh, but given Chicago's history might they make due with LeBron and Joe Johnson if Bosh goes elsewhere. The #8 pick is more likely to net a PF/C than a top SG given the makeup of the draft.

The Clippers need to pass and just focus on filling the 3 from the draft or free agency. I see no reason for them to add Deng's long-term contract when they can pursue Rudy Gay during free agency.

Al Jefferson is on the block, and it appears so is Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins...
