Hawks can

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Wed Jun 23, 2010 12:00 am

Jeff Schultz Hawks can’t afford to slide back (and why not Chris Paul?)

Here’s a dream scenario: The Hawks deal Smith for Paul, re-sign Johnson and then convince LeBron James to follow Paul, his close friend, to Atlanta. Then the starting line up looks like this: Chris Paul, Joe Johnson, LeBron James, Al Horford and Some Guy Off The Street. Sweet! Wait until that goes viral on the Internet!

The Nets are willing to trade the #3 and anyone not named Brook Lopez, so to me Josh Smith won't be enough, and Jeff to me is overvaluing his value.

That's a pipe dream and he acknowledges it by the last line.

As much as I love Josh, I don't think he gets Paul either. The rest of the scenario is BS as well because we wouldn't have room under the cap to sign Lebron, which would mean a S&T and what to do we have to offer? Marvin Williams?

If you could turn Josh Smith and Marvin Williams into Chris Paul and Lebron James then you would be the best magician since Merlin.

Realistically though, wouldn't it be possible to SNT Joe Johnson/1st Rd/Bibby/Marv draftee for Chris Paul/Posey?

Although I know I'm just throwing off that trade idea. :D

Now you're overvaluing Paul, but only a little bit.

I think the ASG is chuckling right about now with all of us coming up with scenarios.

We got Crawford last year, and no one expected as much the success he had with us. Great move.

I know all of the world wants Paul, but my interest lies in his backup because of the cost factor and Paul can keep his top salary in NO....Collison would be a great fit here.

Good point about Collison. But as far as having good young talent to offer up. The Hawks could make the move for Chris as I feel are pieces are more attractive.

Hell lets get Chris, add Labron SnT JJ for WADE or BOSH

Chris Paul
D Wade
Labron
Josh Smith
Horford

Now that's what I dream about at night. :D

A) What the hell would we be sending out to get LeBron, Wade, AND CP3?
B) Minor thing, but please, it's not so hard to correctly spell LeBron.

Whoa, not the spelling police!!!

And I said dream aka fantasy, if I felt we could do this for real I take the time to explain my reasoning and post it here in detail.

Hornets No Longer Strictly Opposed To Trading Paul

Read more: http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67405/20100624/hornets_no_longer_strictly_opposed_to_trading_paul/#ixzz0rkqIipOb

the Hawks could resign Joe and make some sort of offer that would involve Crawrod and Josh or Al, or something like that, but i think that a few other teams like MIN, CHA, SAC, etc could make an package that is 10 times better.

Return to Atlanta Hawks
