Joe wants to commit Bulls early? WTF!
This is som BULL! (No pun intended)...Because the Bulls don't have anything we need or would really want in a sign-n-trade for Joe. Let's look at:
Kirk Hinrich? He definitely wouldn't put us over the top, plus, we have Bibby and the organization really likes Teague (and so do most of us)
Loul Deng? Mmmm! Very decent if we kept Joe but we still have Marvin, Mo, and possibly Chillz (?) and without Joe, Deng would help Crawford a bit and maybe move Marvin to the Bench I guess.
J. Noah? Yeah Right! Noah would be HUGE for us...Too bad the Bulls feel the same way about him...He aint going no where!
Taj Gibson? "Mneehh!" - Good player but Not a good fit here with our already undersized frontcourt.
Derrick Rose?....LoL!!! Moving on.
See what I mean?

Re: Joe rumors starting to swirl...
The Hawks don't have any leverage so I wasn't expecting anything more than Hinrich+Gibson or Eddy Curry+Wilson Chandler if they do sign and trade him.
The one potential trade that looks interesting would be Joe for Beasley/J.Jones/future Toronto pick.

Why are you getting so worked up? It's time for the Hawks and JJ to move on, he played great while here but now wants to leave for the chance to pursue a ring. IMO, he knows the Bulls are gonna make anotheir move if they sign him and Noah/ Rose / Deng / JJ / ? could be a very dangerous team. The only way I see him coming back to ATL is if we sign a big name free agents or aquire a good player to help him accomplish his goal. I think he will be over payed any way so I don't care if he leaves...

If CHI think they have a better chance to add Joe without sign--&-trade than James for example, they can actually sign Joe ASAP to send a message and then work on a sign-&-trade for a real Max contract player.

I just don't understand why they want Joe, they need a someone to help Noah like Bosh or Stoudemaire.

Because they could think that it would be too hard to get two stars like Stoudemire and James, but easier to get Joe + one of the other stars.
If they are sure that only the real Max guys (Stoudemire should be one IMO, but...) will need sign-&-trade and that have nearly zero chances to do two sign-&-trade, the easiest way is too sign ASAP a guy that can help decide one of all the other Star to join them.
You don't dream about adding two Max player, but if you have way more chances to succeed this way... you jump on it.

Re: Joe rumors starting to swirl...
I'd think that CHI would be an ideal fit with JJ... but I can't see CHI pulling the trigger unless either a) they can dump Deng and/or Hinrich for pure cap space or b) they can work out a SNT with us for 1 of those 2. With Boozer, Stoudemire, and Bosh potentially on the market, they need to settle their front court 1st before focusing on the wings (unless, of course, that wing happens to be LeBron or Wade). JJ's push makes sense in that he's trying to force either ours or CHI's hand in signing him quickly before the $$$ starts drying up in FA for the teams that would actually be playoff contenders.
Personally, I want no part of Hinrich unless CHI takes Bibby back (fat chance). Hinrich is an upgrade on Bibby, but they fill similar roles. I can't see committing $14+ mil to the "veteran PG who can shoot" role over the next 2 years. Now, if they bribe us well (i.e., MUCH more than whatever they get with the #17), then sure. But it'lll need to be a very good bribe. I'd be interested in Deng though, but I'm not sure how much CHI would be willing to deal him unless they know their getting a LeBron later.
EDIT: Just after finishing this, I see that it looks like the Wiz are willing to take Hinrich for a bribe of the #17. Oh well, CHI is now in the catbird seat for FA.

If LeBron +1 big(Bosh, Boozer, Stoud, Lee) happens to land in Chicago, would Atlanta take a Deng + Gibson/James Johnson( or both) plus future picks for JJ S&T? They could always try swinging players later

The Hawks have no use for Deng.

Re: Joe rumors starting to swirl...
why should the Hawks help out the Bulls like that, to form the greatest team ever?
Bulls are praying that the Hawks accept a Deng for Joe trade, so that they can have the cap for Lebron and Bosh (which can also be seen in the recent Kirk trade).
with Hedo, the Rap are not going to accept Deng, i don't think so anyway. and Cavs are not going to accept Deng and help a rival like that, and in addition Deng is decent but way overpaid, and his talent and contract doesn't help the Cavs at all. that only leaves the Hawks the Bulls can turn to.
basically, if the Hawks don't accept Deng, it will just be Lebron/Joe or Lebron/Bosh, and not the Fantastic Four Lebron/Bosh/Joe/Rose.
just better of at using the cap to get Salmons or Haywood, and not unwittingly help out create the greatest team ever.
