Re: Nets now shopping pick, trying to move back
Here's the move
MN Out
Al
Gomes
NJ Out
Dooling
Humphries
C. Lee
#3
There is value there for MN in C. Lee and #3. NJ is looking for a power forward to complement Lopez and Al would be great. Gomes is simply a throw away. #3 - Favors, #4 - Johnson - Both Dooling and Humphries are gone after this year, if not earlier if paired with others in a trade.
NJ looses salary cap space, but gets Al on a good deal and fills a position of need. Only concern is that NJ would balk because of cap space lost in the deal.

Why trade the #3 pick for a PF when you can sign one? Even if it's only David Lee the Nets will be able to acquire a PF for sure in the FA. We would have to take on Yi's contract as well (to ensure them still having more cap room) as well for them to even consider this.

My assumption was that they wouldn't want to part with Yi.. I'd take him as well though in the trade.. My thoughts are that Al would be available to them, for less money than Amare' or Boozer and would be a better fit next to Lopez than Amare' and I feel Al is better than Boozer.

Re: Nets now shopping pick, trying to move back
I think if NJ moves the pick, they want a young player and cap space. Therefore Jefferson is a no go unless it's in a three way. Love/16 for 3/Yi/Humphries or something like that makes some sense.
This is a long shot but I've heard they are not too happy with Harris and his salary at the point. Do you think they'd consider Flynn/16 for Harris/Yi/Humphries/3? It'd kill all of our cap space but would give them room to sign two max guys, give them a young PG to build around and also leave them with a pick right outside the lottery. Would we do it?

It think the only way NJ trades the #3 is after July 1st in a sign and trade deal for a FA.

From Woj's Twitter:
Sounds like BS to me. Why would they decide they want to stay put immediately after New Jersey makes their pick (and therefore Cousins) available?
Detroit's no longer making calls to move up in draft and planning to stay at No. 7, league sources say. Greg Monroe tops Ed Davis on board. 15 minutes ago via web

Prolly not "want to" but "has to". What do they have the Nets would want?

I threw that same offer on the trade board recently and NJ fans didnt like it.

Maybe something with Indy? Off the top of my head...
Love/10/16 to Jersey
Harris to Indy
Hump/3 to Minnesota
I guess Indy would have to send some salary our way as well.
I'm sure NJ fans wont like it but it's not a bad haul for that pick.
