The Wizards probably intend to do something with Josh Howard's situation.

Getting pick 17/James Johnson/Kirk Hinrich to eat $18mil is a very good deal. I mean really who did you guys have going to the Wizards this off-season? They probably aren't extending Randy Foye and they'll be bringing in a Brick Mason young point guard who knows nothing about how to play the position on this level. Hinrich can be flipped again within a year for another rebuilding piece if necessary. They had no back up point guard really

Stop sour milking over every trade that's made where it's more than obvious there is an advantage to doing so.

The Wizards can still sign about $16mil worth of Free Agents

Wall/Hinrich/Livingston(maybe)
Arenas/Young
Thornton/Howard(trade bait or option doesn't get picked up)
Blatche/James Johnson
McGee/Pick 17

I mean exactly how much more youth do you Bitter Bitchin Knick Fans really anticipate them taking on out of thin air?

Despair and disappointment are like old friends to us Knicks fans.

if WHEN we do get back to the top, it will feel that much better. We'll be like the Red Sox reviving themselves.

We'll get there eventually and I'm not counting us out for this summer yet. Our strongest selling point is unchanged. Contrary to what everyone thinks or doesn't want to think about, NY provides the biggest marketing opportunities for any of the maxes.

Just because you can be big elsewhere has no effect on the cold hard truth that you will be biggest here. If any of the maxes come here they have the entire tri-state area in their back-pocket to sell whatever it is they choose to peddle.

As we are with them about being obsessed with us. I haven't been to their board all this year and most certain haven't come close this summer. How many of us can say the same.

As a Nets Fan all i got to say to myself is How Stupid can the Wizards be to take on a Contract for 9-10 million for the next 3 yrs i dont get it

But the thing is how can they get 2 max guys if they would only have 30 million with the trade someone can explain?
i thought the max starts at 16 not 15 i know its not a big difference but still

If the trade does go down ill admitt the bulls are in the leaded but i have to see what my nets and the knicks are going to do from the draft to july 1st

Like the nets can go and trade Yi and Humps with that is 7 million for picks and that would go from 27-28 to 34-35 so right there thats 2 max contracts
and as for the knicks they can get a first rd pick or collison or paul (whoknows just throwing some names out there) so to me alot can happen from now to july1st

PS knick fans please dont kill me and say my team sucks and stuff like that im not disrespecting nobody im not here saying the knicks suck to me IF bosh and james goes there and with other good pieces the knicks have they can win a championship next yr IMO i really dont care what others say about how the knics or nets wont win until 2012 and crap like that..im with all knick fans even tho im a nets fan we should be going at it against the bulls not the nets
btw to me james destinations are 1NYK 2NJN 3CLE and im not saying this to kiss as* ive said it since the season has ended

I cant believe it never crossed my mind that CHI could simply trade Hinrich or Deng and get two max slots.. if anything this means that we cannot stay pat tonight, we have to make some sort of move to make our roster more appealing to the FAs..

I too was wondering why this was a bad trade. They have to build their team as they see fit. They traded the 5th pick last year to really get to this point. They traded 2 of their big 3 to get to this point. Getting young players, Hinrich, and a pick (maybe more) is a good deal to me for a team not guaranteed to get anyone for free agency. Its a crap shoot with teams vying for Free Agency, while they are building towards something....

How stupid as a Net fan can you be to know they aren't taking on 9-10 mil for 3yrs but instead go over to Hoopshype and you'll see they're taking on

$9mil for 2010-2011
$8mil for 2011-2012

Hinrich has a depreciating contract as he received a front loaded deal

I agree. There's no need to panic. Donnie has been silent, but there's something big brewing. Never under estimate the Knicks' chances for Bron and Bosh.

I think some of the Knicks fans may be over reacting to this a bit. If LBJ does end up going to Chicago, and Bosh truly does want to be the "man" then NY is really his best option. He would be the centerpiece in the biggest market and the team would still have tons of money to build around him.

I will finish my work up early. I will sit in front of the TV with my note pad and watch the draft. Every time I here we have a trade to announce I will advance to the edge of my seat. Because this time I am waiting for something. Will I be disappointed?

Well, at the end of the day, even though I never supported Donnie's February trade, the guy had no pieces to work with.

Our team stinks. Seems no one wants our garbage. If we strike out, we just PRAY we get the first pick in the draft next year (top 1 protected), and that in 2012 we get a top 5 pick (top 5 protected).

I'm not panicking though. If Lebron wants to come to NY, it's definitely not because our team looks good. It's because he wants to start something new in the greatest city on the planet.

If he doesn't come, **** him and those spoiled ass Chicago fans.
