There were rumours that the Wiz wouldn't let Arenas anywhere near the lockerroom with John Wall in it, even if they can't trade him. So I'm not sure his presence had any influence on the Hinrich-Deal. Of course they'd love to trade him for Carter or Turkoglu or whoever.

Maybe they need the Bulls Pick/Prospects to sweeten an Arenas Deal.

KnicksGod doesn't. I just don't know if he exists.

But let's not say they're the luckiest franchise ever. They went through some brutal times after MJ. They've suffered badly as well.

What keeps the Wizards in this deal through July 8th? Why would they make this deal before knowing who will be available at #17? I could see them doing it if they had a player in mind that was on the board. On July 7th, can the Knicks go to the Wizards and offer them something (WC) for nothing if they do not complete the deal with Chicago? This whole thing sounds a bit fishy.

Technically, yes, the Wizards can simply refuse to complete the deal if they don't want to. Practically, however, this has never happened, because it would blackball the Wizards organization- word is bond a lot of the time in the NBA-- trades you hear about don't happen for weeks sometimes, and GMs need to be able to trust that a verbal agreement is binding.

Wow! One can dream. Those would be epic, epic battles. The Knicks and Bulls would own the league.

You certainly are dreaming if you think D'Antoni would start Emeka Okafor.

My prediction is that if it's a full salary dump, it will be at least two picks, probably three.

If it's a shaving of $3M-$6M, then maybe just one pick, at most two.

We'll see if I'm right!

I think your being to optimistic. Your explaining the worst case scenario and even that is still good news for the bulls.

Yes I am being optimistic. But it's possible too. Also, I don't know that $3M more cap room is a game changer for the Bulls. So best-case scenario (for Knicks) is pretty good. $3M more would not help them a great deal at all.

latest talk has deng going to either clips or kings for more room.

look, say bron and bosh end up on the bulls, and that's still a big if, why does wade stay in Miami after that?

Because they can sign anyone he wants and he can get a 6 year deal?

Riley would probably go after Amare or Boozer. If that didn't work out, he'd probably bolt.

This whole thing is insane, and has really pissed me off, but I think it's time to focus our attention to the draft. If i'm Donnie, I make a strong push for Turner and try to build around that. I cannot believe the Wiz made this trade. When I go back to DC, I swear to god, i'm going to go straight to the Verizon Center and just punch the wall for three hours straight. LeBron/Bosh said that winning is the most important thing to them, and how can you NOT believe them? Fact of the matter is that no matter how you slice it the Bulls will have a superior team. The Bulls have infinite luck, and we just get infinite turds, but it's time to start going gold digging for cheap young talent, and go for as many picks in the draft as possible.

Darrington Hobson. Here we come.

Looks like we could use Lance Stephenson to revive this franchise

There are plenty of players I like more than Stephenson who are projected in the late 1st/early 2nd ranger. For instance Terrico White or Grevis Vasquez. I rather not having to worry about Stephenson's entourage or worry about his doing dumb s**t, but I would probably take Stephenson over Hobson. Stephenson has "steal potential" if he comes in, works hard, and plays smart. He also has "bust potential" if he can't, but what can you expect with a early second round pick.

Is there any chance Walsh goes after Dirk? He's been the forgotten man in this free agent extravaganza

As for Miami...I don't think players like Pat Riley at all. Not even Wade Likes him.

There is only one destination NYK and I laugh at the media trying to ignore them.

You add Joe Johnson and James which make them a great team. Knicks fans need to look up. The Tony Parker trade could happen if the Knicks offer a max extension to Parker. It will cost you guys Gallo but it give you a shot at Amare or Melo in 2011. While they will not have a title team, you add Melo or Amare, you will be in the playoffs and very good I would add.

The Chris ruhTard trade from yesterday, Deng for the 8th pick, was definitely the stupidest proposal I’ve ever seen from a major reporter and shocked my conscience. But this Wiz deal, as reported, is about 35% as stupid, which is way too high a number.

Did Grunfeld consider that with Wall and a few crappy picks, he won’t be getting out of the East anytime soon with Noah-Bosh-LeBron-Deng-Rose?

Definitely agree there...and with the "Nuthins ova" part. It's still a week away from free agency and we still have A LOT of cap room, and owner who is willing to do whatever he has to do build a winner, room for two max free agents, and a nice young core to build around if all else fails. People have to stop complaining and just stay positive...did other teams make nice moves? Yes, but it doesn't mean anything is set in stone. Walsh is definitely working...just not letting people in his organization, or the teams he is working with, spill information. GOTTA HAVE FAITH, BROTHAS!

If Chi trades away contracts of Deng and Hinrich, i don't see how LeBron and Bosh can resist joining Rose and Noah.
