I'm thinking about these dates... with the dispersal lottery being very slightly favoured to the bottom teams.

Thoughts?

No

Am I wrong in thinking that if there is a dispersal draft there will also be an expansion draft? Are they done at the same time? Or are we going with an odd number of teams?

If the dispersal draft and expansion draft are done at the same time it should be done prior to the RC/FA draft. It doesn't seem right that I should draft Derrick Favors in the first round only to lose him in the expansion draft.

I was thinking going in with an odd number for this year...

If we don't add a new team, then Craig's idea is very sound.

If we were to add a team(s), then it would have to be the other way round - dispersal draft, then expansion draft, then the RC/FA draft.

Just to clear any confusion:

Out: Jarrett Jack, Matt Bonner
In: Blake Griffin, Anthony Randolph

Could I suggest that if we are decreasing our number of teams perhaps we add a roster spot to have a reserve for when we expand next summer? Then next summer reduce the number of roster spots again.

Why aren't we just allowing someone to come in and take over Cody's team?

I second this...it makes it a whole heck of a lot easier. And I think we have some very good nominees. I'd start the bidding with the following:
FloppyMoose (the new Mod has to have a place in the dynasty league, so says I)
Woody (More than adept and quite active)
Globe-trotting and shenaniganizing, traveling the world and taking names...

I drop Kelenna Azubuike.

I think just having a new owner take over Coady's team would be the simplest solution. Can someone explain how exactly the proposed dispersal draft would work?

okay; we can do that; obviously, it would be an easy spot to fill.

I leaned towards dispersal draft because of the amount of talent on that roster. If we disperse it, I thought it might level out the playing field a bit.

I'm okay with we have another manager take over the spot...

When do I have to post the players I plan to drop from my roster?

I'd actually prefer a dispersal draft since I like drafting but I'm just unsure of the mechanics. Do we have a process or procedure worked out yet?

It doesn't seem to be unanimous and it's a lot more work; so, we'll just find a replacement manager. Basically, if we would have went that route, we would have held a separate draft [with a lottery slighted weighted to the lower-level teams], to pluck the players off the team. We would have then went a team short this year, with an expansion draft happening next year.

We'll just find a replacement manager, though... who will be in an incredible position...

So what's the timetable again? I think I still have to make a roster move off IL. As for replacement gms, floppy is a good choice.

I guess it's looking like this...

Rosters to 15: July 2nd [by midnight]
Lottery: July 3rd
RC/FA draft: July 17th

Still waiting on replacement manager. floppy? insfo? let's do this...

Isn't insfo already a manager in this league? Are we all confirmed?

I'm going to drop Foye from the IL and my roster. I guess with Wall, Arenas, and Hinrich he's not playing much. Keeping Pietrus for now. My 15-man roster:

PG - Rajon Rondo
SG - Kobe Bryant
G - Jason Richardson
G - Rodney Stuckey
SF - Francisco Garcia
PF - Marvin Williams
F - Anderson Varejao
F - Serge Ibaka
C - Andray Blatche
C - Kevin Love
BN - Carlos Delfino
BN - Mickael Pietrus
BN - Tracy McGrady
BN - Anthony Morrow
BN - Yi Jianlin
