The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread (Update: Page 61)
oklahoma did well tonight.
i am not unhappy with getting turner..but would have been so nice to get a center.
my guess is they got something lined up via trade later.

The draft is over and so let the madness really begin. I'm not expecting the Sixers to be all that active this off-season but perhaps we'll see one of our many wing players moved for a big man.

Cole Aldrich was bound to go to the OKC even before the "quest" even started. OKC and NOH have been talking for quite some time already.
Looking at the Hayward pick at the 9th overall, also made me doubt that rumor about Thad for the 9th overall and Koufus. Sloan seems pretty high with Hayward to have picked him 9th overall. The Hayward seemed to be well thought/considered.
At the 13th, the Grizzlies were hoping for an insurance or maybe a replacement for Gay. It was Paul George or Xavier Henry, no more and no less.
I doubt that there was this "quest." For it seems like Utah and the Grizzlies have there eye on certain players in the draft pool.

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread
Looking at this roster right now, I think it's a 6th to 8th seeded team (depending with how the FA pans out). And it's a second round team.
But with the Knicks, Bulls and the Nets potentially becoming a superpower team in the east with their ability to land 1 or two superstars, I don't see the 76ers contending anytime soon.
And don't forget about the Magic, they are rumored to land either Arenas or CP3 to pair with D12.
We need major changes and a lot of risk takings to get over this hump. For as we improve with Evan Turner, so does our counterparts.

If CP3 to Magic doesn't work, the rumor is that they would land Arenas. Damn..

Don't forget about the Heat either. Enough space for 3 max contracts now.

The East is going to be turned completely on its head with free agency. I wouldn't worry about ranking teams until the dust settles.

LOL
Anyway, let's just hope that the Favors would just end up with only one big time FA, who is much preferably a PF. That way, it would open up the chance of a Iggy for Favors trade.

Turner, Favors and Jrue.

Arenas would give the Magic a good shot at winning.

Winning what? Arenas isn't a winner, he's a knucklehead. Love to see that guy coached by SVG. Man, those practices and meetings would be a blast!

I agree Arenas is a better shot than Carter. But I haven't looked at the contract years money. Arenas contract with his injuries were bad before the pick a gun game.

Agreed, they did trade Jordan but I still like their picks. Thankfully I am a big Bucks fan too.

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread
Jordan didnt end up with the bucks?
We are trying to get Zoubek in to our summer league camp/team. Should know more on that in next day or so.
I asked why we didnt get a 2nd player and was told a possible upcoming move maybe a 2 for 1 where we wont have room for that 2nd round player.
They are definitely going to move one of the SF guys....Kapono for foster may not be it though because the pacers drafted two SG/SF types and we are thinking about keeping green and kapono for now and using them as chips at the trade deadline. Feeling is Kapono may be more desireable than foster at the deadline thinking a team needs a shooter. We will see
That leaves Thad and Iguodala and I am still not getting signals that Iguodala is leaving. If that changes, I will let you know.

gonna be interesting i think after the dust settles in free agency and some teams that didn't get what they wanted could try to make some moves to satisfy their fans Iguodala would look pretty desirable.
