in terms of consistency Kirk is an upgrade to N1, and a rebuttal to the point that we need a guy to be able to set jumpers with wall on the floor

Why does everybody keep saying that Chicago can sign two max players now? Chicago has $31M in cap space. Max players cost $17M each.

Re: Wiz Acquiring Hinrich and #17?
The more I think about this, the more I think the plan is to move Hinrich to a 3rd team. Hollinger mentioned that future considerations are in the works.
For argument's sake, let's assume we can ship Hinrich to the Lakers for Vujacic + Morrison (signed to a $1.8M deal to make the salaries work) + $3M cash. If that happened, we would essentially be on the hook for $7.2M in salary minus cash received, or $4.2M total. Also, rumors are the Chicago sent us cash in the trade, let's say it's $3M. If that were all true, then we effectively paid just $1.5M for the #17 pick plus a one-year rental of Vujacic and Morrison.
Indeed, maybe it makes even more sense to wait until mid-season to make that trade. We can reap the benefits of Hinrich's leadership early in the year, and then send him to a championship contender for cap relief.

I Doubt it Nate. DA said Wiz want Hinrich to mentor Wall.

Well, even so, I can see us making a similar trade at the Trade Deadline. We get the benefit of Hinrich as a mentor for a while, but ultimately get the savings as well.

True Nate. I Could see us eventually trading Hinrich for a comparable expiring and a mid 1st rounder.

I don't think we'll get a 1st, but even if we just get cash and cap relief, we'll look back on this trade and call it a win. We would have bought the #17 pick for just $1.5M (or maybe $4.5M depending on whether or not Chicago gave us cash) while also renting Hinrich for free for half a season.

You know what bugs me? Why didn't EG try and trade Miller and Howard? Miami would have easily done a QRICH for Miller swap. We could have picked up an extra pick.

Miller's a UFA and Miami aint getting rid of their hard earned cap room for him now.
Maybe we got 3 million in this trade? If so, not too bad.

I meant at this past trade deadline. Qrich and Miller had the same salary. Could have been an easy swap.

I definitely thing Hiney will be movable for expirings; Any team that takes him will just need to pay about $4 million on half a season of a lockout shortened 2012.
I don't know if Ernie will go that route though; sounds like Gil's going to be moved instead.

Sooo first you guys try to give Dallas a championship, then Cleveland, now Chicago. Nice work, anyone else?

Re: Wiz Acquiring Hinrich and #17?
why would Gil have to get moved because of this?
Hinrich fills that 3rd guard role that was severely lacking last year. He plays the 1 and the 2 and plays DEFENSE.
McGee/FA
Blatche/Booker
Thornton/FA
Arenas/Hinrich
Wall/Hinrich
IMO, I don't think this is any reason to deal Gilbert. Besides, Flip mentioned Wall laying with Gilbert during his interview during the draft tonight.

Yeah, I didn't notice the Mavs or the Cavs playing in the NBA finals during the playoffs, or did I miss something? Maybe if you'd talk with some Mavs and Cavs fans and ask them how those deals worked out for them?

I said it during the Cavs-Celtic series: If the Cavs had Blatche instead of Jamison, they would have won that series.

Huh? We can't trade Foye because he's an UFA. Hinrich can't be traded with other players. This is a stupid rumor.
