I am officially scared...

Post#1 » by MarJJMar » Fri Jun 25, 2010 4:15 am

that this might be our roster next year..

Lopez/Jones
Clark/Lawal/Collins
Hill/Dudley/Griffin
JRich/Barbosa
Nash/Dragic

If we get lucky we might get at least Beasley for Amare in a sign and trade. Too bad we still wouldn't see a Clark/Beasley/Lopez frontcourt then.

Unfortunately the horror scenario might get even worse if we re-sign Channing Frye for 5M$ per year ( yuck)

Lopez/Jones/Collins
Frye/Clark/Lawal
Hill/Dudley/Griffin
JRich/Barbosa
Nash/Dragic

There would be just one solution to this. Ignore basketball until Nash retires because I have no interest in watching an old as dirt scrub team struggle to stay above .500 without any young player with any sort of star potential

Clark starting would be a disaster of epic proportions. :(

I wish all new threads would require my approval to be posted.

Go swallow a frisbee Mar, your doomsday scenario is neither probable nor logical.

I'm incredible disappointed with Suns fans.

I thought I wasn't a good enough fan, but after reading this thread (and many others before that)?

If you can't get excited about the fact that we currently have the best bench in the league with:

Dragic - 2nd round, Pick 45
Lopez - 1st round, Pick 15
Clark - 1st round, Pick 14
Dudley - PHX/CHA trade "throw-in"
Lawal - 2nd round, pick 46

We've essentially constructed one of the best young cores in the league with ONE lottery pick, and that was Earl at 14. I'm thrilled. When was the last time that we had a bench? That we were comfortable using?

And your brilliant analysis completely forgets the fact that Amare going AWOL leaves us with cap room.... let me say that again, cap room - not room under the luxury tax - again, cap room.

We don't have the best bench in the league but keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better.

Wow great we will have 10M$ of useless caproom because nobody we can sign for that will replace even half of what we lose and be overpaid for years to come.

One of the best young cores, dude you should be a comedian. None of the players you list has any kind of star potential whatsoever except maybe Clark but we don't know that since he doesn't get any playing time.

More likely he will be wasted at PF next season where he is no mismatch because that is the only way he will be able to get PT.

What cap room? When Amare leaves, we don't go $17 million under the cap. We were already over the luxury tax to begin with. The savings are something like $5-$6 million only.

Please do this, and stay away from this board while your at it. You truly are no suns fan. I for one am excited to have a SuperCoolBeas/Clark/Lopez front court, with Nash lobbing Oops game to game. I don't understand why you don't think they would use that line-up, we havent been a conventional b-ball team for a while now... We might not be contenders, but this team will still be fun to watch.

And who knows they might even turn some heads, no one ever though last year we would be 2 games away from WCF. Amare was as good as gone anyway, dude did what he had to last season to get paid this season and we don't have the brass to shell out the max for a lackadaisical PF that will probably fall off once he gets that contract.

I'll take my chances on Lawal, Clark, or SuperCoolBeas being the next star for our team. Even if we suck next year we can get another Lotto pick to add to the pot. Future isnt so bleek as these people are making it out to be.

:o wow, this is a lame thread.

This is just stupid. I like this teams future even without a star young stud. what we have is solid players, role players etc. You need that. Even with Amare, we are STILL not a championship team. Beasley would be an even worse direction for this team.

I think we need to rebiuld with a lottery pick and a FA and we might be back up again.

It seems like we have about 5-6 Mary's on this board.

Yup. If/when Amare walks, I don't think we'll miss him as much as we think we will. We won't be as good, but it's not the end of the world. I'm fine with Clark getting 30 minutes a night to at least see what we got, and both our picks have me pretty excited too. My life no longer hinges on whether or not we win a championship

If, by "what we lose" you are referring to Amare Stoudemire, then there are tons of players that can replace what he brings. David Lee? Done. Beasley? Probably 60-70% replacement. Come on guys, it's freaking Amare. Not Lebron or Wade or even Bosh. It's "4 rebs in the biggest games of the playoffs" Amare Stoudemire.

Elsewhere here, it's reckoned as $11mil. that's not tons of money, but you can get someone very good with it. Likely someone very good that this team will make a lot better, too

+1

he's a great player, but i thin we can be just as good by adding the right kind of guys and building on the "team"concept.
right now we have 10 guys who contribute, two full lineups - you dont see that very often

This team makes players better offensively - if we keep adding youth, length, toughness, we will be an ugly matchup for other teams

and by youth i don't mean rookies - the Bill Walker types, guys we can give a second chance to

Great post, I really like the team right now and Lawal is going to be a solid player. He's like Lou, but with more size and it would be easier for him to guard 4s. I like the direction of the team right now, although I wish we would've grabbed Torrence with the 60th...

L freakin' O L. You're just a person with an opinion like everyone else on the board. Your fascination with Monta Ellis, even suggesting that he start along side Steve Nash giving us the smallest back-court ever completely precludes you from claiming objectivity.
