Well when you contradict yourself, you start sounding crazy.
And I'm just pointing out that the teams don't seem anything alike. That's all. We could be very good next year but I am not seeing that kind of team yet.

Right now if everything breaks right the sixers are a 40 win team give or take 2 and a 7 or 8 seed in the east but they will improve and continue on the upswing from here on out.

I don't think anybody is thinking or saying the Sixers will be title contenders. I think trading Iggy in a good deal increases the odds of winning a championship.
I actually think trading Iggy in the best deal you can find for him is a smart move. I think the value of an Iggy trade would be greater than just the deal itself. The Sixers could get a good young player possibly coming back, play the young guys next year, take their lumps, and get a lottery pick, and get cap a ton of cap space in 3 years instead of 4.
Iggy has 4 years left on his deal. That would be the time Turner gets an extension and a year after Jrue gets his extension. Thad or Hawes might get an an extension next year. Speights might get one in 2 years.
I think we can assume he Sixers will not compete for a title in the next 4 years (duration of Iggy's contract), especially if these teams with cap space get the players they want.
I say trade Iggy, get a lottery pick next year, play young guys for a couple years, and then use Brand's expiring to gt talent or consolidate young talent if need be. The Sixers will have a lot of financial obligations the next few years and two huge contracts on the roster, so change needs to happen.

Collins with Mike Miss today on my drive home when asked will Iguodala be moved?
"No Andre is gonna be here"
Other interesting note. No pre set starters
wants lou to compete with Jrue
Turner with Green(didnt mentioned Meeks)
Iguodala with Nocioni and then mentioned Thaddeus
Brand and Jason Smith
Speights and Hawes
No Kapono mentioned

It's time to play Speights at the position we drafted for, which is PF. If we keep playing him at center, we defeated the whole purpose of drafting him.

Seriously, if we wanted a center, we passed on Javale McGee, who beasted last season in Washington.
John Wall-?-?-Andray Blatche-Javale McGee
Get a legit wing-man to go with that(they could want Iguodala) and a sniper and look out.

I guess, if you consider 6 ppg and 4 rpg "beasting"...lol

I guess if you consider the fact that with the Gil suspension and the trades, McGee played very well towards the end of games.

why would we have drafted a center when it wasnt an area of need at the time?
hindsight is 20-20

Listen to Doug at the 10 minute mark. Doug's statements really hammer home that Chad Ford is worthless. Ford (and Gottlieb based on Ford) was the only person preaching that Doug wanted Favors and that there was dissension between Stefanski and Collins. As Doug said, "Don't let the facts get in the way of a good story."
Chad Ford = Complete BS

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread (Update: Page 2)
Oh by way, for those who have criticized SF76 for not knowing of the Dalembert deal (Dei Lynam said that trade came out of nowhere as well), let's give the man props when he nails something.
He was all over the coaching search and had that 100% correct. For those of you who were here on the night of lottery, SF76 said the Sixers wanted Evan Turner all the way and that he was their guy. He stood by that the entire time as various reports came out about trades and the team preferring other players. As Doug says in the link above and as Ed Stefanski said at the Turner Press Conference, the moment the Sixers had the #2 pick... Turner was their guy and that never wavered. Again, the media ran with a bunch of other stories, SF76 stood by his source and once again... his source was right on the money.
Thanks for the reports, SF and please keep them coming especially with Collins saying that there most definitely could be more moves coming.

Re: The Sixerfan1976 Off-Season Thread (Update: Page 2)
Honestly, I rather keep everyone right now. Especially Kapono and Green just so we are firmly below the Tax Threshold. That was a huge reason why the 76ers didn't try to get another 2nd because it could end up screwing up the Luxury Tax. So by just letting Kapono and Green expire, it should help out that situation. I would be fine with the Foster/Kapono deal if that did happen just because the financial room would still be there. But I don't want to just rid them to get a "band-aid" type of big man.
It seems like our three youngest trade chips (Young, Lou, and Speights) have all been working pretty hard for this off-season. Young, as Collins said, put on 10 pounds of muscle and is now 6'8 (Although I don't think he is that tall) 230, and is still a superb athlete. Lou and Collins have been talking, and Lou seems on board with coming off the bench if he is given the chance to start. And Collins seems to have a liking for Lou. Then you have Speights who, from what I read, had a "intervention" so to speak after the season about his weight issues. Speights, from reports seems had at work, and that is great for the 76ers because, in my opinion, he is the most important part to this team. He can be a young low post scoring option that we need.
I do hope we keep these guys, especially Speights and Young, because it is unfair to banish them just because of EFJ. Give them a try with Collins, and see what happens. I think both could have very nice bounce back seasons. Just look at what could be a future roster...
Jrue (35)/Lou (10)/Turner (3)
Turner (28)/Lou (12)/Meeks (10)
Iguodala (32)/Young (14)/Turner (2)
Speights (32)/Young (13)/J. Smith (3)
Hawes (24)/*Greg Smith (18)/J. Smith (6)
*2011 Draft Pick for hypothetical reasons
That is a good, young talented team.
Starters: You have your leader, and floor general in Jrue. Your #1 option who can drive at will and hit the mid-range in Turner. A very good defensive, athletic SF who can give you 16/6/6 every night in Iguodala. Speights gives you a very good offensive post presence, who can hopefully give average D. You then have Hawes who can be productive on the offensive end for a center.
Back ups: Lou can come in and play the 1 or 2 and give 20 minutes a night, hopefully he can improve his 3-Point shot. Meeks comes off the bench for 10 minutes or so to give a 3-Point threat. Thad comes in and can play SF and PF for about 27 minutes gives you a mismatch either way on the offensive end, and hopefully can end up being a good defender. Greg Smith is a 6'10 250 C/PF from Fresno State. Really tough, hard working, high motor type of player. And you have Jason Smith who can bring another motor off the bench.
Point is, I just don't see why we would have to ship Thad off. I'll happily take him off the bench, and if he shows that he can play SF, then you can ship off Iguodala for the right deal. But there is nothing wrong with him coming in off the bench. If we want to win, we are going to have to spend money, period. We can't be afraid too. Same with Speights and Lou. Plus, build for the future...who cares if we don't have a center for the 10/11 season? I'm sure he isn't going to make us contenders. Just go with the young guys, and see what you got.
Whole bunch of stuff from me, but just my opinion.

If this was possible...would any of you trade brand and a future 1st for al jefferson..a legit low post scorer that we really need..I still think he has alot of game left even after his knee injury and he's still young.

+1
This is why I was happy with the Dalembert trade: it gave us the young prospect center in Hawes without giving up anything and we STILL got under the cap. It was a decent move that could turn into a GREAT move if Hawes works out. If he doesn't, we find a center later.

Just for the future. Year after Brand leaves, whether that is via trade or just letting his contract run out.
