Re: LeBron Free Agency 2010
Sorry Cleveland fans but Lebron is gone.
I was hoping he would stay with you. Your team would be great but i dont think he could have as strong team as the Bulls or Heat.
You and Knicks i think is out of this.
Bosh will go were Lebron goes so i see Lebron going to the Bulls.
Rose
Lebron
Deng
Bosh
Noha
Not bad.
For Heat
Chamlers
Wade
Lebron
Haslem
Amare(i dont think Miami will get Bosh to).

LeBron is gone. You can see how things are playing out and it's pretty obvious at this point. Kobe just got his 5th ring. LeBron isn't getting a ring anytime soon if he returns to Cleveland.
I believe Jalen Rose does have real sources. I surely wouldn't give him less weight than anyone else.

I was just wondering... Since when did Jalen Rose have any sources and when was the last time he broke any story?

Rose isn't in Lebron's inner circle but he is pretty close.
Don't think that's the same Rose...

I'm disappointed the Cavs are letting Lebron hold them hostage. Whether or not LBJ returns this team needs a serious makeover. Anthony Parker, Delonte West, Jamario Moon, Mo Williams, and Antawn Jamison are not the answer. I would have loved to have gotten some new players in here.
I think Daquean Cook or Chris-Douglas Roberts would have been additions in the right direction for with very little risk. I am not saying that they are the answer, but they are young enough to develop into better players. The talent is there with both guys. You have seen the Lakers and Celtics develop young players to put around their stars even if they did not draft them. For instance the Celtics developed Rondo, Kendrick Perkins, Glen Davis, Leon Powe, and Tony Allen. The Lakers have developed Kobe, Trevor Ariza, Shannon Brown, Luke Walton, Andrew Bynum, Derek Fisher, and Jordan Farmar. Every team has to develop young players and I find the Cavs to be impatient (e.g. Shannon Brown, JJ Hickson) or just plain bad talent evaluators (e.g. Luke Jackson). Lebron, Andy V, and Carlos Boozer are the only young players that I can remember the Cavs devleoping into contributors in the past decade.

Dont forget, Lebron being non-comittal cost us a shot at Ariza. Lebron has absolutely cost this team any chance of improving this off season and last in some regards as well. His act has grown very old for me, at this point I really have had enough of Lebron.
I can appreciate his abilities, but his posing, crying about calls, and his absolute self absorption are despicable.
Old school NBA types must detest his act as well. I would bet that some of these guys wish they were still playing just to take a shot at his smug ass, to knock him off his self appointed pedestal. I am a basketball fan and Cavs fan, but as for being a Lebron fan?
No, not anymore, any athlete that holds a franchise that has bent over backwards for him doesnt deserve either the respect or the adoration that Lebron so dearly craves. Thanks for the memories Lebron, but the only lasting one for me will be of you quitting on your team, and you letting your ego get the best of you.

Re: LeBron Free Agency 2010
I think Cleveland has some pieces worth developing right now. Hickson is promising, and I am curious to see where he is at after a healthy summer. Danny Green is worth getting some minutes. He has good size, good athleticism, and seems to have a high basketball IQ. I do not see why he cannot be a younger version of Parker. Gibson is a bit of a head scratcher. He showed promise early on, then got bit by the injury bug. He was healthy this past season, but rotted on the bench minus Mo's injury. If Gibson continues to work on his ball handling and defense, I think he could give Cleveland a lot of what Mo currently brings. I am interested to see what level of production we will see from Powe once he is playing on two legs. Point being, we have some young players on the roster that seem to be worth getting some minutes, even Jawad seemed comfortable on the floor last season. I think it is up to the coach to work the young players into the mix. Brown seemed to rely on his veterans too much. I think Cleveland was going in the right direction last season with Hickson. I hope he improves to the point where we can insert Danny Green into the starting lineup without having a drop in overall production.

Great post and I am glad others are seeing through Lebron's B.S. Too many Lebron fans and apologist and not enough Cavs fans. Unfortunatly, the Cavs and Lebron's interest are not aligned as they should be with all the blame going to Lebron.

Personally, I don't mind a post like this, but it may be mildly disturbing for others.. Be careful with what you post around here just to avoid any flame wars.

Re: LeBron Free Agency 2010
Gotta love the fact that LeBron wont be visiting the other cities to let them try to "woo" him.
So if Cleveland still "has the edge" and the other teams dont even get to give him the star treatment in their home cities, it looks like he is going to make it a basketball decision.
Can you imagine the Knicks brass walking in, ringing their hands, and saying... "THE MECCA LeBRON!!" lol Oh and dont forget how much LeBron thinks of no Dantoni. "You play no defense! You're the New York Knicks!" Lets go ahead and cross them off the list.

Does anyone think that Stern has anything to do with this apparent change of plans for Lebron? Or maybe the negative impact this seems to be having on his image? Whatever the reason, the Lebron world tour was supposed to be upon us, now the tour is coming to him. Very curious.

Re: LeBron Free Agency 2010
Stern has no say in anything. Lebron has that much clout, and the league and many fans should share in the blame for him holding the Cavs and league hostage. Hell the majority of the NBA draft yesterday was all about teams moving players and getting more cap space for the CHANCE to get Lebron. As a fan of the game with no allegiance to any team I would love to see him remain in Cleveland, but with the current roster in place, no head coach or GM it is looking less likely that he remains. His comments lately about being loyal to AKRON and how AKRON will always be home, leads me to believe he is creating an "out" for himself so that Ohioans won't boo him when he returns. If the Cavs had more financial flexibility to add a legit number two guy, then he would definitely be staying in Cleveland imo. Cleveland went for it by trading for Jamison and it failed.

Re: LeBron Free Agency 2010
Stern has more say than you think imo. And we do actually have a GM. I have corrected at least 5 people on this in the last week or so. I dont know why so many people think we dont. Anyway, Stern controls the refs, and the ping pong balls if you are a conspiracy guy.
I agree we whiffed with Jamison, and that is one of the many reasons we fired our coach, he had no idea how to use him effectively, and in turn that is part of the reason Ferry left. Dont worry, Ohioans WILL boo Lebron with a vengance if he leaves, and you are right he is from Akron, and apparently there is a chip on Akron highschool athletes shoulders about Cleveland, us being the bigger city and all.
And I also think that all of the teams dropping salary to try to entice the free agent class is a major issue, and while I think there isnt much the league can do about it, wasnt it funny how there was all the talk about a free agent summit, how Wade was going to invite JJ, Bosh, Amare, and Lebron down to Miami, and then all of a sudden it just stopped. Then the guys said "uh, there isnt any summit" or something to that effect.
Stern is the guiding force for the NBA, and while many people wont agree, I think how this free agent situation and the labor situation play out may eventually cost him his job. Now I know that is far fetched, but if both situations are a complete zoo, overshadowing things like the finals,(which btw almost happened, and then curiously the Lebron thing kind of quited down for a few days) and the draft (which is exactly what happened) his support from ownership has to take a huge hit.
With the economic situation of the country, and of many of the franchises, and the labor contract being up, the NBA could be radically different in a very short amount of time. If Stern doesnt maintain control, and it looks like he is having some trouble with that, your statement that "Stern has no say in anything" could qualify as evidence, hi position could be tenous. And dont forget, Rod Thorn just stepped down. Again kind of curious.

Yet the finals had the best ratings in over a decade. As they say there is no such thing as bad publicity. The offseason may be a complete zoo, but its a zoo that is attracting a lot of attention around the country.

I hadnt even thought of the tampering aspect of the other teams setting meetings with Lebron or his crew. Windy brought this up apparently, and this is probably the reason for the scaled down Lebron world tour.
Does anybody think the Cavs will press the issue of tampering? Particularly if Lebron does in fact leave, and there turns out to be a legitimate rules infraction, would there be compensation for the Cavs? Another interesting turn of events regarding the Lebron saga.

My thoughts are this: Even if they are tampering- talking directly to LBJ- and the league finds them guilty, what is the punishment? My guess is they get a hefty fine. I can't imagine many teams being upset with that considering the value of their franchise just went up $150 mil. Compensation for the Cavs? Most they would be able to do is, what, draft picks? Those wouldn't hold much value since the team would have LBJ and whoever else. Finally, I don't think they are tampering. I'm sure Lebron is smart enough to go through another person (WWW) to talk to these teams. I'm sure the team "mentions" to Wes they'd like to meet Lebron and so and so time and day, and then he talks to Lebron.

I also thought that LeBron and Bosh were locks to go to Chicago not too long ago? QUITE FRANKLY, Screamin A. Smith also said Kobe was going to be traded during the 07 draft.. Just wondering how many more reports on done deals we are going to hear about before July 8th, the day when deals can actually be done, or even before July 1st, the day when they can start negotiating.. Take everything the media says with a grain of salt up to that point.

Or when he said Larry Brown becoming our coach was a done deal... and then Dan Gilbert referred to the guy who made that claim as 'John A. Doe'
