Trade Ideas
Indiana/Golden State
Indiana Gets
Monta Ellis and Kelenna Azubuike/Charlie Bell
Golden State Gets
Troy Murphy and Dahntay Jones
Indiana/Memphis
Indiana Gets
Mike Conley
Memphis Gets
Tyler Hansbrough, Solomon Jones, and AJ Price
Golden State gets out of Ellis' contract and gets a defensive 2 who would give Curry more oppurtunities to have the ball in his hands.
Indiana gets a 2 who can score and play and defend point guards.
Memphis gets depth at PF and future security at the position with Randolph probly leaving next year. Marcus Williams and AJ Price can steal some laptops and try to sell them again. (I don't have room to talk tho.) We also give them two players coming off injury in Price and Hansbrough.
Indiana gets a PG, who is from here. It might give Conley a new start. Look what happened when McRoberts came here from Portland.

Re: Trade Ideas
Um...... Neither team would do those trades with us. GSW doesn't want to 'get out of ellis' contract' and Memphis likes Conley and developing him way more than any interest they could possibly have in hansbrough.
Sorry.
Sorry.

Re: Trade Ideas
The Ellis speculation stems from the Maggette trade, there was a lot of people saying that the GSW were gonna have a fire sale. One of their posters was making a thread about it in the trade section and proposed something like that.

Re: Trade Ideas
I know there's not a good chance of it happening but what about:
Indiana Sends: Brandon Rush
Portland Sends: Jarryd Bayless
We get a point guard who is young and cheap (also considered top-5 talent in that draft) while clearing room at the wing positions.
Portland gets another wing to take Rudy Fernandez place if he's traded.

Re: Trade Ideas
Rush for Bayless...who would ever do that ; )
IT is really amazing that in todays game money / cap space is more important to several teams than talent and winning.
If we play our cards right...Murphy, Solo, Dunlevy, Ford and Foster will all have inflated value. If we get the cap space to take on a longer term contract we could really add some pieces...but we must be patient.
We may also just hold all of our chips and save the cap space next year. Giving us the ability to be aggressive in the FA market, or simply a low dollar non playoff team that can be profitable...we'll see which direction the head over the next several weeks to months.

For some reason this trade seems oddly familiar to me, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

Re: Trade Ideas
Darren Collison is wondering if he'll be traded this offseason.
"I don't know if I'm going to be a Hornet," Collison said before meeting with fans at a Hornets' draft party to the New Orleans Times Picayune. "I like it here, but things don't work out that way. This is a business, and I'm starting to understand it."
The paper also reports that "Collison thought he was traded last week to the Indiana Pacers after receiving a voicemail message from a reporter seeking comment about the rumored trade. Collison said he quickly called his agent, who told him he was still with the Hornets."
The Pacers had been looking for a point guard in exchange for their No. 10 pick, but no deal was completed, and they ended up selecting Fresno State's Paul George with the pick.
Bottom line on Collison: When Chris Paul was out with injury this past season, he played well enough that teams see him as a starter in the league.
And with Paul above him on the depth chart and soaking up most of the minutes at PG, it's only natural that teams will try to pry him away. And for the Hornets, it makes sense to listen, as they'd be able to get some value in return.
But as we mentioned earlier on Friday, with the Cole Aldrich and Morris Peterson trade the Hornets pulled off during the draft, the team is now out of the luxury-tax zone, which appeared to be their utmost concern financially.
So it could mean they won't be listening as hard on Collison offers that offer cost-cutting incentives and little in the way of return talent.

Re: Trade Ideas
They'd probably want us to take Okafor but his contract is too big to come here and be a backup. I love that lineup tho. I think I would switch George and Rush since George seems more of SF.
I wonder if OB will leave Rush and Granger in the starting lineup and let D. Jones and George back them up. That way you have one defensive stopper and one scorer in all the time. I could also see Stevenson as a backup point guard because of his dribbling abilities. Not much of a distributor tho.

Sorry.
Where you get this from?
Cuz from what I heard, most people think he hasn't come along the way the Grizzlies wanted him to.

They should OJ is best at PG.
and they don't have any depth at PF.

I don't like any lineup where Granger is playing the 4. That's not his position and he's not as good there.
