He said New Orleans is always his first choice, but hes all about winning, and he wouldn't want to play on a rebuilding team.

Well, not to sound too smug, but it certainly isn't on me, or anyone else who never really believed it could/would happen.

I personally think that New Orleans is a fire sale waiting to happen and they just don't have the heart to tell their fans they will be rebuilding(plus, they are trying to avoid getting low-balled if they announced that they were). They don't have the pocketbook to hang in the free agent race and their team, as is, isn't enough to do more than get them into the first round of the playoffs(and that is only if everybody was healthy for a full year). What cut it a few years ago to be successful won't do it now. The age of the dinosaur will be fully upon us(5 or 6 teams having 3 star players with a chance to take it all and everybody else falling by the wayside). We should wait it out. It is "very, very" early in the process. All who currently despair, be patient. And don't feed into the insanity.

I am just hoping that we are pushing for Paul but if we fail, we end up with Collison & West.

As much as I'd like something close to a pass first point guard, I do not like the idea of trading Jameer for Collison, and I doubt that West would have a good season with us...

I think everyone wants results too soon. i honestly think that nearly everything depends on LeBron. See, until he makes a move, there are sveralt top tier free agents in limbo, as well as half the teams in the league. Until dominoes start to fall, I don't see ANYTHING major going down.

I really don't think the Paul trade is going to happen, but for all those that do, I suggest you calm down until at least July 1st.

Jeeeez, everytime I login again without seeing the WT saying we got CP3 feels the same as every loss PO game.

Then again, i'm still not really convinced we are getting CP3.

I won't lie, I was sucked in. Or rather, hopeful. I thought it could very well be a deal that clears nola of all it's big contracts - okafor, posey, Paul - and leaves them with an expiring and good value young guys - vc, gortat, Anderson/bass, tpe. It made financial sense IF N.O. were rebuilding.

It's gonna be a bloody long offseason of rumours from here on out though.

when does our TPE expire? does someone know exactly? I know its first week of july, but isn't the first week of july no-trade period?

I'm just wondering if TPE expires in that period? cause any deal with NO will have to have that sucker involved...just trying to figure out if right before july 1 is more likely if indeed we are able to pull of cp3 or more likely around jul 7ish.

Our TPE expires on 07/09/10. I'm really curious if we are going to use it or not. Like everyone else, I have faith that Otis will do what is necessary to get us over the hump and get that championship!
