I'm with you, man: Gimmie Hawaii and X over 2X and anywhere else.

I think Jones wants to raise his profile for a return to the NFL, and he realized everyone sees Hawaii as a gimmicky cult kind of thing (no offense!). If he can get SMU into an after-Xmas bowl in two years, he sort of washes himself from that whole "yeah, but it was Hawaii" stain.

Most of you couldn't care less, but North Dakota promoted from within, replacing their coach who departed for Southern Illinois. That's one of the better small-school jobs in the country. Actually they both are.

Hawaii has repatedly promised to improve facilities and give him a recruiting budget (which he still doesn't have). They've treated the football program pretty poorly (their pay for assistants is god-awful as well), there would be more to him leaving than just his salary.

UND's been a very competitive D-II school historically, right? I know a little about the school, and it sounds like an excellent move given the type of place UND is.

:curse:

Slick Rick, Norm Chow and Dewayne Walker...on the SAME COACHING STAFF.

Thank God UCLA doesn't have good...wait, they're turning in a top-10 recruiting class.

:banghead:

F**king brilliant move for the Bruins; we'll see if the egos can coexist peacefully.
