Yeah we'd most likely do that. Swing Carter elsewhere at the deadline for useful future pieces / a pick.

Sixers out- Brand, Iggy, Green, Smith
Sixers in- Carter, Chandler, Bass

Magic out- Carter, Gortat, Bass
Magic in- Brand, Iggy

Bobcats out- Chandler
Bobcats in- Gortat, Green, Smith

With this variation of the Brand/Iggy for Carter/Gortat/Bass trade we get another huge expiring in Chandler. This would put us at something ridiculous like 30 million in cap space next year. Would the Bobcats do it?

Do you seriously think that Orlando would take both Iggy's and Brand's deals? I have my doubts.

This deal is pretty simple:

Expirings of Green and Kapono for Okur

Why?

Philly gets Center, Utah gets Kyle Korver replacement + Lots of Cap Space.
(The expirings of Kapono, Boozer, Green and Korver )
Philly still would need a tough guy up front but Okur allows them to pull the opponents big outside making room for brand inside

Don't we already have a poor man's Okur in Hawes?

There was a thread on the trade board and more than half of Magic fans were in favor of the deal.

For real? Wow that's shocking! Too bad their GM isn't as stupid as their fans are lol.

I think Utah laughs at that offer. Also, they might be losing Boozer this offseason, they cant lose another one.

ORL fans seem pretty fed up with VC. He was a total no show for the playoffs. Also, many of them lament not having a banger type PF who can help Dwight inside. Their dependence on a weaker 'stretch 4' hurt them.

Just a slight expansion on the idea that was mentioned here:

PHI: Iggy / Brand / Kapono / Green
Phi: Pietrus / Gorat / Bass / Stojakovic / MoPete / 1st

ORL: VC / Pietrus / Gorat / Bass
orl: Iggy / Brand / Kapono

NOH: Stojakovic / MoPete / 1st (or Thornton)
NOH: V.Carter / Green

Jrue / LWill
Turner / Pietrus / Meeks
Thad / Stojakovi / MoPete
Speights / Bass / Smith
Hawes / Gorat

Following yr:

Jrue/LWill
Turner/Meeks
Thad/1st
Speights/Bass
Hawes/Gorat/1st

Sorry, my reply was in responce to Green and Kapono for Okur.

Well this is the GM the gave Rashard Lewis $20 million a year and thought Vince Carter would put his team over the top

Hell if Otis Smith were dumb enough to bite on that deal, I would be willing to pay for both plane tickets and passes to Disney World for both Iguodala's and Brand's families.

Sixers out- Kapono, Williams, Green, Smith
Sixers in- Ford, Foster, Hansbrough

Pacers out- Ford, Foster, Hansbrough
Pacers in- Kapono, Williams, Green, Smith

Sixers do this because they need a backup point guard and Ford can fit that roll. Foster and Hansbrough are two guys Doug Collins would love to have coming off the bench. I'm not sure how Indiana feels about Hansbrough but I know sf1976 said they were interested in Lou and you have to give up something to get something.

Why not? He can provide 10-15 minutes of high energy off the bench and you know he'll be playing his ass off and pushing Jrue because it's a contract year for him.

I'd rather we got Rush or George than Hansb (lol and I don't even like Rush). I'd be fine with Ford as our back up Vet, as long as we don't resign him :)

Jrue / Ford
Turner / Meeks
Iggy / Rush /Noc
Brand / Speights
Hawes / Foster

I think think its more a lateral move than something that improves us much.

Yeah this is a lateral move. I don't really like it now that I think about it. I posted this trade on the trade board and I like it a lot better:

Sixers out- Williams, Green, Smith
Sixers in- Foster, Songaila, 2011 1st round pick (lottery protected), 2011 2nd round pick

Pacers out- Foster, Rush, 2011 2nd round pick
Pacers in- Williams, Smith

Hornets out- Songaila, 2011 1st round pick (lottery protected)
Hornets in- Green, Rush

I don't see the Hornets being a top 10 team next year so a pick in the 15-20 range is really good value for Lou. I think Meeks can be a rich man's Willie Green but he needs at least 15-20 minutes a night and getting rid of Willie and Lou will help clear out the log jam. The 2nd round pick will likely be in the 31-40 range as I see the Pacers being a bottom 10 team so that's good value for Smith. And Foster and Songaila are both expiring to go along with Kapono (and Young/Hawes if we don't resign them). Would that give us room for a max player next summer?

We would be cut out of that deal so fast...The Hornets don't look to be making the playoffs in the next couple years (especially if Paul is on his way out), so if they really wanted to trade a first for Rush the Pacers would just do that deal without us.

Not to mention that they have Marcus Thornton who they absolutely love and who lit it up this year.

Would anyone here be willing to take a flyer on Greg Oden? If so, what would you be willing to give up?
2025-2026 Philadelphia 76ers:

Maxey/McCain/Lowry
Grimes/Edgecombe/Gordon
Oubre/Edwards
George/Watford/Barlow
Embiid/Bona/Drummond/Broome

Return to Philadelphia 76ers
