Rockets may make run at Bosh, Johnson
If the Rockets seek to land Johnson, a starter in the 2010 All-Star Game and a teammate of Bosh’s on the 2006 World Championships team, it would require a second sign-and-trade deal in addition to a deal for Bosh. That would likely have to involve guard Kevin Martin, and the team is unsure whether it would want to give up Martin to get Johnson.
Before the NBA trade deadline I predicted that Chris Bosh would become a Houston Rocket this off-season, but it looks like a slim chance of happening, so I expect to be wrong about that. I still believe it makes sense and would he'd be an excellent fit with Yao Ming. Houston has the pieces to acquire Chris Bosh or Joe Johnson, but a S&T would need to happen.
•Kevin Martin: Injury prone but does a great job getting to the foul line.
•Trevor Ariza
•Jordan Hill: Broke out of his shell with Houston.
•Right to swap 2011 picks with New York (Top 1 Protected)
•New York's 2012 first round pick (top-5 protected)
A combination of expiring contracts; Jared Jeffries, Shane Battier, and the New York swap option sounds good to me.
