I don't think it's that far-fetched at all. LeBron knows his legacy needs rings in order to move out of the Charles Barkley/Karl Malone HOF grouping and this would be the quickest and easiest route. Pat Riley is a proven winner that gets his franchises to the Finals...and wins them; NO other potential 2010 FA landing spot has current personnel that can make that claim.

And I don't care how loud and often Chris Bosh will say to the contrary, but IMHO he is NOT a centerpiece and never be a successful LEAD guy, so him playing behind strong minded superstars make sense to me.

If Dantonio is that big of an issue can him now and sign Calipari. Seriously if that is what it takes then by all means make the move.

@knicksgod : I think some of you have a seriously messed up picture of Lebron. The dude is a respectful, insightful young man. He might have a big ego and likes attention as a sports star but I'd go as far as guaranteeing that he'd never walk up to Walsh and tell him to fire D'Antoni and hire coach X so he would sign. That'd be a way out of character and disrespectful move it'd instantly tarnish his image. He knows what the Knicks did the past two years and if he likes the situation he is gonna sign and if not he'll move on and sign elsewhere---he won't get into a messy situation like that.

And BTW this is coming from someone like me who would love to have a defensive minded coach as I'm completely sick and tired of D'Anphony.

Walsh would retire before firing D'antoni on the spot so that he can get Lebron. You can think of Walsh whatever you want but if you are familiar with him a little you know that he'd never do something like that. This is the same guy that didn't fire Isiah Thomas "enemy number one" and you think he'd fire D'Antoni just like that?NEVER GONNA HAPPEN.

Nope, you are wrong. Lebron is going to Orchard Beach, section 5. I heard that from a reliable source that I have know or 40 years. This guy knows Lebron and everyone in his circle, So there you have it. Bron is headed to the Orchard beach, not South Beach.

At least SAS has gone on record with his opinion. It's certainly a bold one.

Of course, we know that no one ever pays a price for offering a wrong opinion - so what does it matter.

Isiah Thomas is only a phone call away (as an overpaid "recruiter"). Considering that FSI ended up dead last in the Sunbelt this past season it's not like he's tied to anything there.

Then make a call and offer up $12 million a year for few years to this man...money and the chance to end his HOF coaching career with the team he won as a player with (it's about time). If there's any HC that can sway what FA's do Big Chief Triangle is it.

And top it off by seeing if you can get Sam Presti out of OKC to be the GM.

Is he going to fire himself if he's wrong, if not then no need to go out on the limb. Only if he was going to quit if he was wrong, then I would have respected his opinion....

SAS was always entertaining, but he is a fraud with no sources. Anything he says was PLANTED because everyone know what a big mouth he has.

He had a very strong relationship with Isiah, and he is throwing out one last reputation saver his way.

The whole thing makes me ill. Let July 1 come and stop listening to the misinformation.

LOL

All these clowns and so called "insiders" know they only have three days left before free agency officially starts so they're firing their last shots.
Even if they're wrong, they'll claim they were right and Lebron, Bosh and/or Wade had a change of heart at the last minute...These guys have zero accountability so they don't care at all. Don't understand why you guys care so much about what they say...

Wow. So this new conspiracy is to make basketball irrelevant for the whole nation for the next five-ten years?

How many people watched 2006 finals? Miami can't even sell out playoff games. What a great idea to put the top three talent from one cohort on the same team in a city that can care less about basketball.

This move would singlehandedly kill basketball for the next decade. Miami can win ten titles in a row and people would still not turn their TVs on to watch them. LA has the west coast and probably most of the nation, Boston and Chicago have the east coast, NY is the second largest market. Who gives a F about Miami? Bunch of retirees.

On the flip side, LeBron can witness some decent crowd when the Knicks are in the town.

Agreed, TV viewing would sink to NHL levels.

But once again, these reporters are full of shi**. The players still do not know for sure what they will do, which is why they are waiting to hear what the teams have to offer, but yet these reporters or "insiders" claim they know their destinations. Even Bosh's agent yesterday dismissed those rumors, yet these reports are constantly coming in.

I also still wonder why SAS changed his mind when his last thought on him coming to NY wasn't dismissed by LeBron's team, yet now he decided to hop on the RuhTard Bandwagon.

Go listen to the post-draft podcast with Bill Simmons and Chad Ford and you're understand the idea behind a "source".

Chad Ford explains that "sources" feed reporters information as a favor for a favor. I give you this bit of insight, you help me down the road. Obviously, unveling the names of these "sources" screws up the game of give and take.

I don't recall what Ford said about "sources" blatently lying in these instances, but I believe it was something to the effect of burning bridges.
