And while this is a great team on paper that doesn't equate into winning.

The Lakers had a team with jerry West, Elgin Baylor and Wilt Chamberlain all averaging 24ppg+....and didnt win the title.

There's another thread where it says Bill Simmons states

Chicago landing Lebron at +130, Bosh at +300.
Overnight, they both at -500.

-500 in gambling is like heavy heavy favorites where basically its a sure thing.

I trust vegas odd makers more than Steven A Smith.

Bulls
Rose
Deng
Lebron
Bosh
Noah

6th man Taj Gibson.

That is one scary scary scary line up.

may be not completely unprofessional, but still petty and childish.

@AndrewSmithEsq I don't GUESS with news of this magnitude, sir. I'm better off keeping my mouth shut and letting someone else break it.

@RonHotDawgz654 Wish we could get the STFU, dawg. But if you have a job and you get a paycheck to comment on such things, u wouldn't STFU.

@illquittomorrow Whatever you say. I've got 17 years of guessing pretty damn good, so I'll go with that.

@philprimato I have a damn radio show. What the hell would you have me do? Give the news then disappear?

Yes because Lebron and Bosh would LOVE to play beside Wade knowing they are getting paid less than him...

Boo hoo, everybody whines about players putting image and money over winning and then when some great players actually put try to win at all costs people complain that its not fair. Sour grapes, that's what it is.

Didn't Bosh recently come out and say I want to be the "man". How the hell is he going to be considered the man behind Lebron and Wade. Everything the guy does will most likely be overshadowed by Lebron.

I thought we had a guaranteed championship when we brought in Karl Malone and Gary Payton to team up with Shaq and we saw what happened. Play the games!

True, but this isn't comparable. This is like if the Lakers had had prime Payton, Malone, Shaq, and Kobe together for 6 years.

So you're saying an extra $30 million means nothing to these guys?

Yup. Bosh would be the Bat Girl in that scenario.

As a Laker fan I"m more worried about the prospect of Lebron + Bosh going to a team that already has some good pieces like Chicago than I am them teaming up with Wade on a team with no other good players and no cap space to sign anyone else.

3 max FAs leaves squat to fill the roster out with, a team with Lebron/Wade/Bosh and a buncha nobodies doesn't worry me at all. It takes more than 3 players to win a championship in the NBA no matter how good those 3 are.

Miami's smartest move would be to push hard for Bosh, then fill their other roster holes splitting up that second max contract money between 2-3 great players. A star wing, a star forward, great roleplayers. great defense and great coaching is what wins championships. Not 3 superstars and a bunch of Titos.

Well you would think this would be news that a reporter about to get a late night showtime show and launching a new radio show could stake their career on and that lying about this would lose them a tremendous amount of viewers but this is Stephen A. Smith so I'll still take with a grain of salt. But if true, watch Orlando jump right into the fray for Chris Paul. That would be crazy.
Paul, Lewis, Howard, Hedo/AJ/? vs. LeBron, Wade, Bosh vs Kobe/Pau vs Rondo, Ray, PP, KG
The thought of that is crazy.

Lakers don't have anyone that can cover Lebron or Wade when they are the only guys they have to worry about. What are they gonna do if they are playing together? If you double them both then you got Bosh to worry about. Hell even if there are nothing but scrubs. 3 scrubs vs 1 good role player is still advantage scrubs.

I think it would make them a really really good team, lke a top 3-4 NBA team, and probably make the finals/ecf, but I don't think it makes them invincible or unstoppable. We'd have to see how the chemistry works. It could work, but it couldn't either. I think both the extreme reactions of "they will suck too much talent and ego" and "they will be unstoppable for 5 years" are a bit too much. It's somewhere in the middle.

Any fan.....whether from Chicago, MIami, New York or anywhere.....is stupid if they believe any report about these free agents, especially Lebron. It's already been noted how WWW is spewing crap 6 different ways to the media. And look - one day it's a "done deal" Lebron/Bosh are going to Chicago, the next day it's a "done deal" they're going to Miami, and we still see stupid articles about how New York/New Jersey/wherever is a "front runner" as well. Face it, no fan (or NBA executive for that matter) will know **** for a while. I really DO believe that people have "sources" that tell them certain things, but the whole point is WWW and that gang is spewing out all sorts of conflicting rumors to generate more and more buzz around this free agent circus. And guess what, it's working!!

If this really happens, I'd bet more than not that Riley has a few role players to bring in. Haslem would certainly re-sign, Raja Bell, Ray, Nate Robinson, Raymond Felton, Brad Miller, resigning JO, Ben Wallace, Eddie House, Frye, Roger Mason, Foye, and Mike Miller are all players Riley would most likely go hard after.
