Exactly. No one really knows where LeBron is going. I don't put any stock into any blowhards making claims where LeBron is definitely going.

In this cases, SAS, because if Rome is just spouting an opinion and not referring to sources, then Smith is more keyed in.

That being said, WWW was the source saying Bron two the Bulls two days ago, and yesterday the NY Times said Bron to the Bulls was considered a done deal with the source of an unnamed EC executiv, so we'll see.

Yes, but did WWW actually say that, or was it one of those "sources indicate that.." deals??

It almost would not be fair to have this happen. Wade, Bron and Bosh?!? That's a couple of guaranteed titles.

And James/Bosh/Noah/Rose isn't?

Our scenario is less fair because of the ages and unquestioned pecking order and a good center.

nobody knows squat right now..I wouldn't be surprised if Lebron didn't know what he was going to do yet..let alone Bosh and Wade. Stephen A. is just the latest "expert" to take his turn at free agency roulette. I have a photo of this source that has been talkin got everyone lately.

In a world less SASSY, the above would give me full confidence in our chances. Also defensive architecting that's rather finals-ey.

Oh Steven A, you silly goose. Another BS report. ESPN is choosing to ignore this as I can't find anything on it other than the local radio talking about it nonstop.

Someone enlighten me...

Can Miami afford 3 max contracts?

Exactly how much cap space do they have?

Thanks

Miami can afford 3 maxes if they are able to dump Beasley for cap space (its close enough that its not worth quibbling over a couple of hundred thousand.)

^^ 2 mil away. The could have dealt Beasley for pure cap space, but they denied Ryan Gomes offer.

Timberwolves general manager David Kahn told The Minneapolis Star Tribune that he spoke to the Heat about a deal that would have sent Beasley to Minnesota for Ryan Gomes, but the Heat was not interested because it did not want Gomes' buyout number on its cap (nearly $3 million over the next three years). Gomes was traded to Portland on draft night.

I'd pay to see the look on Pat Riley's face if Wade leaves Miami and they picked up no free agents after dumping they're whole team to get 40 million under the salary cap. :D

PJ Brown wrote:This is where I think both you and Leto are wrong. Yes, it is more than an opinion. The man has sources, good, bad or otherwise. You are wrong to say it's fact, not opinion, the truth or a lie. It's not either or. The problem is not that Smith is an outright liar, it's that he's a showman. He has some info, and he's exaggerating it for effect. That's why nobody takes him seriously. He talks too loud and goes too far with his set in stone/take it to the bank routine.

And his statements about the Bulls probably are just opinions, as he never offers any evidence or logic to support them. He hasn't even thought it through with the Bulls. He's just following his logical trail. He says these guys go to MIA, Amare and JJ go to NYC (yeah, right) and thus, that means nothing for the Bulls.

Great post, I agree. I'm not worried about this at all. Think about who we're talking about here.
