Budget Dream Team
Thought I'd throw up a thread for pure 'what if" ideas about the roster - there are lots of guys you like who end up languishing somewhere and you think, 'damn, he'd be great in PHX'
not stars but guys you think would thrive who aren't doing much elsewhere and could be brought in cheap
Bill Walker was one of mine, until he got a second shot. Right now Lester Hudson is one I like a lot ..
previous guys were Marcus Williams, Sean Williams ....
You got any?

Re: Budget Dream Team
Ryan Anderson would be a nice replacement for Frye...
Sonny Wheems
Sean Williams
Jason Thompson - I wonder if there's any chance of prying him away now that they've got another big young PF there...would cost a future pick I imagine
Ronnie Brewer
Brandon Rush
Anthony Tolliver (forget the dunk, he's decent)
Kelenna Azubuike - not that cheap though

I'd love to get Azubuike and Gomes here. Resign Frye as well. Let Amare walk and Lou walk ship out Barbosa. Sign Boozer if possible

Re: Budget Dream Team
If all it takes to pry Thompson away from the Kings is a future first, that MUST be done. Putting this guy beside Nash will make him twice the player he is.

Ike Diogu, at the end of the 08-09 he put on a string of 20-10 games...plus he went to ASU and not UA so he would definately be more popular than Frye.

Re: Budget Dream Team

Ive wanted Al on this team for a long time... Now that its very possible STAT walks, we will have an opening for him, give him the MLE.

Good list overall - Tolliver would thrive in Amar'e's absence, Rush I like but he's a bit redundant on our roster, Jason Thompson would be an amazing piece and again would thrive without Amar'e. Ronnie Brewer would give us a much-needed stopper. And yeah Ryan Anderson would be an interesting piece, I've always thought he's a bit erratic but we ARE comparing him to Frye here.

Keyon Dooling
If/when Barbosa is moved, he'd make sense here as a decent defensive guard who can make the 3

Re: Budget Dream Team
Lou, I'm afraid, is gone. I love the guy's heart and hustle, and he improved offensively last year, at least in that he was looking for the ball under he hoop and when he got it, he finished well. I really think he needed to work with someone like McHale.
I think someone will offer him just enough that we let him go.
Frye as well, though I can also see him being smart enough to see how PHX is a gift for his career. That seems about 50/50 to me
I really think Amar'e will be gone - either walk or S&T.
That really does hurt our frontline
I assume that oat least one of Jones or Collin will be gone - I kind of hope it's Collins just because I think Jones can still improve, and Collins is exactly who he's going to be already.
C- Sideshow, DJones
PF - Gawal, DCollins
SF - Hill, Clark, Duds
SG - Richardson, LB
PG- Nash, Dragic
I miss anyone?
I can see Sac letting Thompson go, and he'd be a great addition - has his defense improved any since he came into the league?
Brewer as well -

Re: Budget Dream Team
Mike Miller for MLE type money.
Jason Thompson, I agree whole-heartedly with the above posts. I'd give up Clark for Thompson, but I would stay away from sending out any more picks given what our future holds.
I like Tyrus Thomas for around the MLE, but it looks like CHA will hang onto him.
Ray Allen would be nice on a two or three year deal for around the MLE.

Re: Budget Dream Team
I would love Darren Collison here, if we could try to trade STAT somehow to new orleans or do something to get him. Even though Dragic is being annointed as the next in line at PG, I honestly see him as a great fit as an off-guard, as he can slash like crazy, is getting better at shooting, and will probably be a very good defender soon enough.

Well, i heard they are willing to part with Collison if a team is willing to take on Okafor. But i dont really like that deal.

Re: Budget Dream Team
Collison is better than Jennings IMO, and he is a stud defensively so we would FINALLY have a defensive backcourt. And Okafor...lol i dont think he'd fit on our team since we have fropez and him and okafor up front would = clogged lane. But if there's a way to do it w/o taking back Okafor it'd be amazing.

I'm willing to bet less than 25% of people who went to ASU at the same time as Ike Diogu have any idea who he is.

I like Gomes a lot but we are really logjammed at forward
Unless - we move Duds to SG, at least in some lineups

I'd like to have Al Harrington as part of our bench mob. He'd be a good replacement for Frye IMO.

I'm guessing he'll be a bit pricey for his role on our team, honestly.
