Time to trade KOC & Sloan for Kevin Pritchard

Post#1 » by Montanajazz » Fri Jun 25, 2010 10:22 pm

The Jazz need to Dump KOC and hire Kevin Pritchard immediately, so he can wheel and deal by July 1 Free agency and the following weeks of trading! Last night was again, defensive, conservative Utah.
The jazz need athletic, physical big men, not athletic skinny guys. we have 2 more in europe all eady!

Another Kevin Prichard thread? The Jazz are better than the Blazers and have been for years and a lot of it is because of how good of a GM O'Conner has been.

No, it has to do with how stable the Jazz ownership is as opposed to the Blazers, whos owner is constantly meddling in things. KOC's record speaks for itself, he has been average to below average at best.

Change is good and not painful. The jazz have had the same coaching philosopy for 20 years. We have been 2nd best twice and an also ran medium good temm the other 18 years. shake it up Jazz! Take a risk. Take some chances with trades and free agents! Pease!!!!!! Boring, boring!! OR, Sell the team to a city that would appreciate a fun exciting team if change is a NONO!!!

Boozer and Okur were huge risks as free agents. O'Connor payed them millions more than any other team was willing to pay.

Do you seriously believe that the front office made a "conservative" move in this draft? Hayward was the "safe" pick? KOC and Randy Rigby discussed how they were going to get booed for making this pick. The safe thing would have been to go with what everyone expected like Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson. I understand hating the pick--but it was anything but safe or conservative.

You know why those other teams didn't pay anything? NO DEFENSE! And now they're overpaid...weird. Maybe we should at least try overpaying for defensive (big) players, really mix it up.

Not always true. Change can be good and painful at the same time.

I don't think that Pritchard has done anything truly amazing, especially with all the resources that he has.

I agree, people really need to stop hating KOC. He is clearly one of the best GM's in league, it's not his fault that teams try and low-ball the Jazz or refuse to work with them. He does what he can with what he has and he has been brilliant for the most part. Every GM makes mistakes, it's part of the job. Just because your dream scenario didn't come true doesn't mean you get to go blame everything on KOC.

i think you'd be disappointed if you got your wish...one of the biggest knocks on him is that he acquired a lot of nice players and refused to deal any of them to bring in another big time player next to Roy..

Okur is overpaid because he is injured, and Boozer? He was on a bargain contract for a 20-10 power forward even if he did have some injury plagued years.
