If you're rich, its an awesome place to live. If you're not, well, then not so much. I don't miss living there and prefer being able to visit, but if I had all the money in the world, I'd gladly move back.

I think a lot of places are pretty awesome to live if you’re rich, Miami included. I’m not rich, and I despise clubs and find beaches frighteningly boring. That’s why the ‘put yourself in Lebron’s shoes’ argument doesn’t work. He’s rich and may love clubbing and sitting on the beach.

Why is Lebron clubbing? He is married, he doesn't need to pick up girls, and he is constantly on the go when he is in Chicago anyway.

If Lebron has all this time to club and sit on the beach, he eventually will turn into the next Vin Baker.

Nick Friedell was just on the Afternoon Saloon on ESPN1000. He says that the Heat CAN'T currently afford to sign James, Bosh, and Wade. In fact, he says they can't even offer 2 and a half max deals. With Beasley and James Jones under contract, Miami cannot score the three headed monster that SAS claims that they can.

Just a little hope there

I don't get the part about breaking down what's important for Lebron as far as a city is concerned. If and when he signs with Miami it'll be the same cliche answer. Because it gives him the best chance to win. No one really knows what type of stuff off the court that Lebron is into.

LeBron always goes out to clubs when he's in Chicago. I assumed all NBA players go clubbing to stroke their egos.

Stephen A Smith sources aye?

Can anyone give me an actual rumor SAS has started in the last year that ends up happening a few days later? I can't, in fact I can't find one dating back to the last 3 years. I found ones that did come true, but that was before he actually commented on them.

If his sources are true, then as of last week, those same sources said Lebron is a lock for New York.

"From what my sources tell me, he still hasn’t made a final decision, but he’s higher on New York now than he was a month ago," Stephen A. Smith told ESPN Radio on Friday. "And the reality is that he is leaning more towards New York than he is towards returning to Cleveland."

The sources said James' favor toward the Knicks played a role in Tom Izzo turning down the Cavaliers' head coaching position.

“LeBron didn’t speak to Izzo because he doesn’t want to have anything to do with who the next coach of the Cavs is going to be just in case he leaves,” said Smith, who covers the NBA for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Izzo reportedly could not get James to talk to him while trying to decide to leave Michigan State for the NBA. The coach said he "spoke to all the people around him."

Smith added that the sources said James' advisers have been asking "very in-depth questions" about the Knicks organization and that the superstar may not sign with Chicago because he doesn't want to compete with Michael Jordan's legacy.

Another possible free agent, Chris Bosh, told SNY on Thursday he was considering the Knicks and would not wait for James to make a decision where to sign.

As long as we're talking about cities...how walkable is Chicago? I've been there a bunch of times(my brother went to UC), but I was younger, and for the most part, I never got to go around the city by myself, I was with my parents. I've been to New York a lot too, and it's probably the most walkable city in the country - it's easy to get around via your feet and public transportation and you never need a car. Is it that way in Chicago?

You can easily, comfortably, and economically live without a car. It won't be like NY, where not having a car is pretty much the default, and 'carless' culture probably isn't as ingrained as it is in Boston, SF, or DC, but just practically speaking, the transit system is solid, it's an excellent biking/walking town when the weather permits, and there are plenty of cabs to fill in late-night/geographically unusual trips.
On indefinite hiatus as of May 27, 2014.

You don't need a car, but I wouldn't call Chicago a "walkable" city, exactly, unless you're just talking about downtown and the nearish North side.

Yeah....I know a ton of people who live here and don't own cars. I used to be one of them until I finally caved so I could get to my family in the suburbs easier. This guy I worked with is in his 50's and has never owned a car and lived in Chicago his whole life, and trust me it's not because he can't afford one. But like the poster above me pointed out, it's not required to not own a car like it is in New York, specifically Manhattan. Unless you don't live in a high rise in the Loop or right on the lake, its quite economical to have a car in Chicago. Where I live, about a 5 minute walk from Wrigley Field in a pretty dense neighborhood, I almost never have problems with street parking.

I know that's only partially related to walkability. As far as is it easy to get places without a car and I would say yes, especially closer to the lake you are. Chicago's transit system is among the best in the US, but the USA in general has **** public transit. The CTA doesn't hold a candle to New York's subway system though. As far as actually walking, its fairly easy to walk everywhere, especially downtown. Traffic is fairly pedestrian friendly. My only beef is that cars do not stop at crosswalks nearly enough (the ones that don't have stop signs or lights next to them).

In a word, is Chicago walkable, yes.

Edit: I should mention like a poster above mentioned, the walkability I'm referring to is of a tourist or a resident on the north side. The south and west sides, and I'm not just referring to the areas you don't want to be walking around in, and areas that are less dense and a little more off the beaten path so to speak vary by area but as a general rule I'd say not very walkable. But there are areas of Boston like that. There are areas of New York like that. The only city I'd say is completely walkable is San Francisco, and even then I'm sure residents will tell me about areas where that's not true.

Are you saying taxi or walking? Chicago is a great city to get where you need to go by just walking/bicycling.

On the radio here (790 The Ticket), SAS acknowledged his previous belief that LeBron James would sign with the Knicks. He admitted and owned up to that report.

Everything, bike, cab, bus/train. Cars are for chumps! Until you live in California, where you can barely walk down your neighborhood before it turns into a journey.

A little false hope. James Jones's contract is only partially guaranteed and will be bought out and that will open up the opportunity to sign three max free agents (Wade included).

Lived in the city 14 years carfree. It can be done.

And for the record, San Francisco works car free, too. Most other parts of California . . . not so much.

People on here are questioning his credibility because of it, while of course also ignoring the fact that Bucher/Broussard are the two biggest idiots out there (and if they reported THIS, you guys would surely agree). This is apparently not the same source (or should I say sources, because he's now citing a second source's confirmation), so what does that report really matter?

Personally I don't see why people are making that big of a deal. I told you guys yesterday ... it'll be Miami today, New Jersey tomorrow, and probably another team on the 30th.
