Martell Webster Presser

Post#1 » by tvwolves7 » Mon Jun 28, 2010 6:51 pm

I know we have a Martell Webster thread, but thought his presser deserved its own. Again seems like Kahn/Rambis have selected a high character guy.

The presser is half way down the site.

Thanks for posting. I'm liking the Martell deal now, it just stung to give up a pick when I felt there was still talent available. I think he might be one of those players who really improves based on the system and style of play. His eye just light up when he said, "I like to run", so we'll see.

Is there more of this some where? Kahn said he'd answer some questions at the end, and I'm interested in hearing him preach "year of the S&T", "Al for Value", and "We are very active".

What a smooth dude.

He reminds me of Stringer Bell. Any Wire fans?

I can't watch this at work and have never seen an interview with Martell, but if he is anything like Stringer Bell then this trade is a smashing success.

Martell "StringerBell" Webster?

Yeah, probably. I just thought Stringer Bell, since it rhymes with Martell, but Stringer is shorter and sweeter, and goes well with Snipes.

As a Minnesotan and life-long Blazer fan I thought I'd chime in here.

I've watched Webster his entire career and if there is one that that's holding him back it's consistency. He's never been consistent in his 5-year career. He'll be great one game and you wont notice him in the next 7 games.

But, I think he'll do well in the triangle and with a more prominent role. IMHO, he's far superior to Corey Brewer and should be the starting SG from the get-go.

He's a very solid defense player. Solid three-point shooter. Doesn't really have a mid-range game. At 6'7.5" (8'10" reach) 235 lbs., I think he should be posting up more often but I honestly can't remember one time that we ran a play for him on the block. But I put this on the coach and the system.

If he can stay consistent, you have a very solid role player/starter.

LOL Stringer Bell. I don't know if anybody is that smooth. I like the Stringer and Snipes nicknames though.

I'm posting this mostly to show off my new sig.

Also, not to rain on your parade, but I got to second the Blazers fan. I've also watched a ton of Martell....incredily inconsistent. He'll be ok, but just prepare yourselves mentally for the inconsistency.

I think with Ricky Davis, Mike James, Randy Foye, and Rashad McCants, we all have plenty of practice putting up with inconsistancy.

Is someone willing to find and post a picture for Pekovic AKA "The Montenegrian Rapist"?

So when will Martell Webster (Stringer Bell) order the killing of Shaun Livingston (Wallace)? And at what point does Sam Cassell (D'Angelo Barksdale) start screaming "Where's Shaun???"

Wikipedia says his nickname is "The Definition," as in Webster's dictionary. I kinda like that too... there is no rule that a nickname must somehow incorporate your initials.

You're good. I thought maybe Maggette for Avon but was having trouble thinking of an Omar (Josh Howard?)

Kahn is Rawls?

Kahn is definitely Rawls and Omar is a lock for Darius Miles.
