Yea but they had Jordan and very good shot creators. We are a long ways away from the bulls roster wise.

The Bulls were pretty damn good when they didn't have Jordan for a year and only Pippen was leading the way.

It helped that Pippen was arguably the best wing in the league at the time (until MJ returned), and had a 6'10" guy with guard skills like Kukoc to help him out.

I guess the question is what we mean by "burden". He would not be needed to be the 1st or 2nd option. More likely the 3rd or 4th. His main duties would be defense, and his passing either from the right block or the high post. Seems like a role he is comfortable in. If he scores 8-12 it would be a plus, but I do not think the design of Darko's role is based on his scoring ability. As long as he can score in one on one situations (and he can) I am confident in him.

I'm just excited for the first time Darko hits a cutting Snipes for a ridiculous finish.

Agreed. But, I think it tends to show you don't need a dominant scorer like Jordan or Kobe to make the triangle go.

IMO he's a bit defensive C, that can come off the bench and give you 8/6/1.5 blocks between 15-25 minutes. I think he's fine as a center for us right now but I'm not sure he's our long-term guy

Hes never really been given an opportunity to score 10 per. This past year was really his first chance, and he scored 8 ppg in 25 minutes while out of shape. Heck, he put up 8/8 in 19 minutes in his first game in 4 months.

That's true. I just don't think he's that great of a player. I would be glad to be proven wrong. But the thread was can he take the burden. I guess my def of "burden" would be can we dump it to
him and say go get us a bucket? My response was no.

Depends on what go means. I think we'd need someone like that if go means contending for a championship, but that goes for any system, not just the triangle. If go just means playoff contender or more than 15 wins, I'm with you.

I mean just in a sense that the triangle can maximize the talent on the roster with or without a dominant go-to.

He's always felt a bit of entitlement based on his draft position and his own perceived faith in his ability. All teams thus far, have always put him on the back burner. But now he'll feel involved...important, for the first time. He'll finally be able to just play, and develop his game.

He's going to blow some people away with his abilities. He'll be doing stuff that the majority would have never even considered him capable of. I, personally, am very happy that he's going to finally be a "part of the team". His confidence will greatly rise, and with it, his results will rise. Prepare to be very happy, and to forget about not having Cousins.

Yes, Darko will be able to bear the low post burden.

Agreed. Maybe not right away but I think with time he will.
