Not in history. Most casual fans won't even realize the implications of his role in sabotaging the Bulls. At best, he might be met with more boos than cheers at the UC.

That said, we now all know what the D in D-Wade really stands for.

Who is the most hated athlete right now?

No he doesn't, I don't have any issues with him trying to court Lebron and Bosh, my biggest issue in this entire process were his comments about Chicago.

He tried to put out a perception out there about the organization that wasn't very accurate. That tactic is what bugs me the most.

Yeah i agree with this. I think most bulls fans will boo him but not sure all will unless they know how much he's tried to screw the bulls this summer. Not sure if it matters to Wade but he's really screwing himself when it comes to not being liked in his Hometown.

People are going to the extreme here.

The most Wade has likely done is

- Talk to other free agents.

These reports of him

- Discussing the teams future with Riley (False)
- Openly telling people what they talked about (False)

If Wade was doing this, get ready for a big suspension because eventually what goes around comes around. I doubt Wade would do something like that.

I agree. Can't fault Wade for trying to get the best possible team around him, but don't appreciate at all his negative spin (lies) about the organization's "loyalty," etc. I'll be super-duper-bummed if he gets Lebron and Bosh to join him, but I won't hate him for that. I'll just have to hate the team in the same way that I hate, say, the Yankees.

He will be to me, but the bottom line is that he will still hear plenty of cheers and squeals when he is introduced at the United Center. Most Chicago fans will still look at him as a "homeboy" and tend to like him, I think.

i'll be salty at him, but

this guy OWNED the Bears. We didn't beat the Packers for almost 6 straight years in the late 90's.

Between 1992 and 2004 we beat him 3 times. 2 of those games were decided by last second field goals.

Bears vs Packers is argubly the best rivalry in Sports.
It was a one-sided affair during his tenure.

I will take my hatred of Farve to the grave.

I wonder if anyone would prefer Lebron and Bosh to the Knicks so Wade wouldn't get a possible ringfest, also the team wouldn't be as good?

Wade just repeated what a lot of players have been saying and thinking about the Bulls organization for years.

Chicago's Least Favorite Son

Post#15 » by p_s » Tue Jun 29, 2010 9:08 pm

If the Wabronsh actually happens in Miami, does Dwayne Wade become Chicago's least favorite sports son? Would there be any other athlete with Chicago roots more hated than Wade?

No, Wade is the worst. Making up lies to damage the Bulls in the most important FA ever?
Yea Wade is setting our franchise back. I hate Wade.

Hope never comes close to ever winning another championship.

People talk about how much Cleveland is going to hate LBJ if he leaves but, that will be nothing compared to the reception Wade will get when he returns.

It may get worse, too... I always thought Kirk did an awesome job on Wade... Don't get me wrong, I am happy Kirk was traded, but now Wade could be in for some big games against the bulls.
