"It was a very, very light depth chart in terms of point guard in the draft. We think it's a very, very light depth chart in terms of point guards in free agency. So we just could not get caught going into July back on that routine of trying to find a diamond in the rough - or trying to bring back a veteran who doesn't have enough juice left in the tank."

I don't see much in next year's draft either although maybe Wall has raised the bar. I wonder if the answer may be in Europe ... we do have a French point guard coming to camp.

not much? Brandon Knight, Kyrie Irving, Diesel(Deshaun Thomas, if you don't know now you know)? We should tank to try to get one of those players. In a few years Marquis Teague (Indianapolis product). Abdul Gaddy. Plenty of options for the future.

I was going by Draft Express' 2011 mock and not seeing point guards high but maybe it is too soon for all the early entrants to have surfaced.

whoa...please tell me we are not talking tank before this offseason is barely off to a start. come on guys. i get that it would be nice to get a good layer in the draft but come one. i dont buy season tickets to watch us tank.

My tcikets suck, but the nice thing about the pacers playing horrible is that after the 1st Q we move down to lower level seats. they dont mind either because it looks better on tv. I thin we pay under 300 for 2 tickets to every home game...and you get small perks like free hot dog, chips and soda at certain games. discount at gift store free parking in garage stuff like that.

If it wasn't so far away I'd spend 300 no prob. I live in Gary so gas is a problem tho. I might try to move back to Indy this summer and it would be all good. What you said bout movin down. we used to do the 2 tickets for 5 and always move down, they never messed with us tellin us to move up to our seats.

If the team plays uninspired basketball leading to the 4th worst-record in the NBA 3/4's of the way into the season, than by all means tank like hell. No need to salvage anything.

Maybe the lower-level ticket-holders despise tanking because then all the upper-level ticket-holders converge on their lofty status.
